Hi Paul and cheap nasties,

Now here's about as cheap and dirty (as we say here) as you can get. One
big advantage, it charges as many cells in series that equal a bit less
than the peak voltage of the AC mains. Obvious hint, best use an
isolation transformer for this one.

Simply use a full wave rectifier bridge with one AC leg supplied through
a 1uF cap in series with a 100 ohm 2W resistor as a current limiter. Oh,
it charges one cell just as well as many, the sky's the limit.

Simple enough? Cheap enough? If you want dirty, use old, used parts and
don't clean them.

P.S. It's also useful for diciplining lids, the electric Wouff Hong.
