Well why not stuff a more uptodate OS into it aswell and your USB problems
will be just a memory of yesteryear!
Of course you could just unplug and replug the USB cable when you find the
disk isnt recognised. The hotplug will cause USB host to re-enumerate the
USB devices and your disk should appear as if by magic.
