Thank you for your time. Is there out there a programme to wake up the USB
ports on a computer running WIN98se? I have the drivers and I can use the
USB external hard drive. However I have a small problem. When I close down
the computer, it forgets the external USB hard drive. So when I boot (or
reboot) up the computer I have to cold reboot the external USB hard drive
to wake up the USB connection.
I wish the computer to ask the USB port to log on the external hard drive
automatically at bootup. Then I do not need to place the hard drive where
I can switch the thing off and on to make it tell WIN98se, "ahoy there I'm
here, look at me!"
I would like a nice little programme or utility to call up the USB hard
drive when WIN98se boots or reboots up. There is a programme to close down
the USB hard drive before removal. However I leave mine permanently
connected, ( have 3 hard drives internally fitted plus a CD-ROM ).
As you possibly can tell this PC is stuffed like a box of PAXO with gizmos
and bits. I have stacked, packed and racked parts in this overstuffed
machine. ;-))
