Radio relay is dead as an issue. Get over it.

Forget about what the other people are doing, it's a hobby, do what
thrills you, and quit jumping up and down waving your arms around.

It's more of a PAC today. Sort of modeled on the NRA.

Is playing with narrow band modes as silly as collecting grids??

You don't get it Stewart. Some people actually get a thrill out of working
DX on the HF bands. Of course they realize that they could call them on the
phone, or send them an e-mail, but that just isn't the same. No one is
forcing you to do it. If you aren't interested in HF, fine. Does that mean
no one else should be?

Presumably to make it as easy as possible to those who want to promote
high-speed digital operation. Can you explain to us why that has not been
enough?

I like the idea of incentive licensing. I just think it should reflect
modern times, that's all.

There is a searchable QST and QEX article index at:

http://www.arrl.org/members-only/qqnsearch.html

If memory serves, QST has featured a "What's In QEX This Month" blurb for a
while now.

When I use "DIGITAL" as the search word, I get 394 hits. 104 of them are
from QEX. I think that Ed may have been speaking generally, rather than
specifically about the May/June issue; the digital articles from that issue
are:

May 2000 QEX 13 A Low-Cost HF Channel Simulator for Digital Systems
Forrer, Johan, KC7WW

May 2000 QEX 4 Is Digital Voice Permissible under Part 97? (sidebar to
Practical HF Digital Voice) Rinaldo, Paul, W4RI

May 2000 QEX 3 Practical HF Digital Voice Talbot, Andy, G4JNT

May 2000 QEX 3 Practical HF Digital Voice Brain, Charles, G4GUO

I note that you are not an ARRL member and apparently don't subscribe to
QEX. On what basis are you able to "fooey" all the stuff you haven't seen?

I don't know how your grass-roots movement is coming along, but if you can
put together the documentation for a high-speed UHF digital system that hams
can duplicate, I bet the QEX editor would be interested. If it is
published, I could then ask that it be linked off the ARRL TIS page at:

http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/digital.html.

I am in the process of adding the HF digital voice article and the link that
you gave in an earlier post. Any and all suggestions for improvement for
that page are welcome.

This has to be the dumbest thread in this group in 15 years.

Go downtown, wave a $20 bill, and some woman will come
to your rescue. You need it.

I think that is a good idea. Hmmm, maybe it is time I joined the ARRL.

That would be great Ed.
