I am using a Texas2way 2/4 level FSK decoder and an AR8200 wide band
receiver. This setup works really well on VHF/UHF FM mode. On HF there is a
great deal of interference coming back into the radio from the decoder. How
can this be fixed, or can it? I am interested in decoding many of the HF
data types.
Thanks,
Jon

I know what the directions say... while at the command prompt, type CW and
press return. But then what?
Before I type CW, I find a strong cw signal and tune it so as to get maximum
jiggles in the lights on the front of the KAM98. As soon as I type
'CW<enter>' the light goes to the far left and stays there. No amount of
tuning will make it move.
I have never seen any text come from that strong CW signal.
I have tried setting the speed to 5, 10, 15 and 20. I have tried <ctl C>U
and set CWBAND to 1000. Still nothing....
What am I missing?

Check your MARK/SPACE in the TNC software/firmware shift maybe be shifting
??aslo if it is similar to my SCS PTC2 you will have to tune the CW sig in
SSB and have LED on the left hand side Fully light inbetween Dits and it
will jump to the RIGHT when tnc hears the CW tone, then tune very slowly
till characters appear on screen
not sure, don't own a KAM ,but what you describe is similar to PTC2,

Subject: PK232 with Harris RF 3200
Hi,
I am trying use a PK232 multi-mode TNC with a Harris RF 3200
transceiver, without much success. I can key the rig and get audio from
the RX into the TNC but there doesn't seem to be enough AF out of the
TNC to drive the rig to more than a few watts output. This has not been
a problem on the various amateur rigs I've owned. With soundcard
programs everything is fine, as of course there is AF output from the
card to spare. Has anyone else come across this? Perhaps an add-on
buffer amplifier is all that's required?
I don't have a technical manual for the Harris, only the operating and
programming manuals so I'm unaware if there any internal level controls
that could be tweaked. I've seen the same problem with two RF 3200s and
so it's unlikely to be a rig fault. I'm connecting to the transceiver
via the 15 way service connector on the rear panel but the effect is the
same via the mic socket.
Any feedback appreciated,
Roger, G3VKM

A friend of mine (yes, I have friends) is looking for a program he
thinks is called "Multi-Mode", for use with multiple digital modes on
packet, and/or PSK, and/or Pactor, etc...Anyone know what or where this
is? Thanks for reading! - Adam -
