How many of them run the left and right channels independently?

Careful with that word "perfect" :-)

Which modems would you connect to those 8 SCC ports?

I saw a reply to your posting, never saw the original..
Anyway, check out my web site. I have two versions of a KW 140/440/940
control program there. One is for Windows and Linux using the Tcl/Tk
scripting language that is FREELY available at www.scriptics.com. Links
are on my page and if you have any questions just send me an Email.
The second is a Linux/Unix only that uses the Xforms library...
Both come with source code.

Gee, Mogens, you might be right. I may end up having to apologize
to you.

They've been pretty silent recently, haven't they!

Maybe they're all on vacation and not reading the newsgroup.

Subject: Y2K glitch in DOS and Windows version of PcPakratt program.

Jack et all:

No, it's not Timewave's mistake. It is a design flaw in which AEA and the
orginal coder/owner of the program, Dick Litchel, did not take into account.

Keep in mind, in 1992 when PakRatt was first designed and written, no one
was thinking of Y2K and by the time it became visible in 1997, AEA was in
chapter 7.

Dick owned the source code to PakRatt and had licenced AEA to sell the
program, as well as he did with Timewave when they aquired the AEA
technology. Dick owned the source code until we (CSS) bought it from him in
March, 1999.

By that time, Dick had added some features to it, but had not released the
code, so the source we received wasn't direct 2.0 source. Since the source
for 2.0 does not exist anymore, there was no way to make a binary equivalant
of the 2.0 release code. This would be the only way to make a 'patch' for
current 2.0 users. The same goes for the DOS versions.

The only option with the current source set was to make a new executable and
dll's. And as you might guess, CSS didn't recieve any revenue from previous
versions of the program, as well as we had to make the financial investment
to purchase the source code to add the Y2K fixes in as well as adding a few
more enhancments. We've also added many of the PakRatt features to Pacterm
'98 and PkTerm '99, and have not charged anyone for upgrades on those
products.

Hope this clears things up a bit.
