Subject: APRS on handheld / palmtop computers

question re connecting D7 to Palm--saw the diagram online for the wiring but
wonder what the hotsync cable is like.

I got a hot sync cable -- has anyone cut the computer connector off it? Can
I simply stick a 2.5mm stereo plug on it? ARe the wires coloured? Sounds
simple but hate to waste one.

The alternative is to join a hotsync cable via null modem to a computer to
D7 cable but that makes a much bulkier package.

Thanks

I can read it but it is inconvenient because it asks for an extra
confirmation, and it keeps the encoded form in followups unless I
do extra steps.
(My newsreader, unlike Billies toys, does not automatically unpack
and execute MIME-encoded files and programs it finds on Usenet, you
know... I like that, so I won't change the default)

And for postings in American it is perfectly useless...

I'm not running any "Billie-Toys" here. Solaris 8 on a dual-MMX with
Communicator 4.7 (look at my headers).
