With Linux, do you only need a soundcard?? (Or do you also need some other
hardware??)

Subject: DSP-12 Info

I have a LL Grace DSP-12 and am looking to programming information.
Specifically, a Developers Tool Kit that was available when the units
first came on the market. LL Grace no longer supports the unit and does
not have the tool kit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Kenwood TS-570D and Kam

I have 2 problems with my TS-570D (not G model) and the Kantronics Kam.

1. If I turn the Kam on and the 570 is already on it will key the
transmitter. If I turn the Kam
off and back on again the 570 will return to receive. Otherwise the
keying works fine.

2. The 570 is an early model SN 80600xxx and has had this problem every
sense it
     was new.
  A. Kam is hooked to 570 via the 13 pin din connector on rear panel with 3
conductor
       shielded wire.

     a. I have the Kam turned on.
     b. Turn on the 570
     c. Try to transmit packet, 570 keys up but no output.
     d. Go to menu #33 (it is set to 1)
     e. press up or down button and then back to 1
      f. Try to transmit packet again. Now 570 transmits fine with full
output
and will keep on doing fine until I turn it off. When I turn it
back on I have to
go through the whole thing again. Menu #33 DOES NOT change, it
stays where
         I put it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Subject: Mystery of 30-meters...

Probably an encoded commercial station. About 12-15 years ago I got
deeply into trying to decrypt one of these stations - wrote custom
software to deduce word length, evaluate the frequency of the
character set, do some bit-inversion tests - everything I could think
of.

The WW2 Brit codebreakers at Blechley (sp?) Park would have been
proud ;))

Nothing worked for me with my particular brain for that particular
station at that particular time. I assumed he was probably using a
modern DES encryption scheme, and I would probably never succeed, and
gave it up.

Since bit-inversion features are included in modern software, some
stations must use a simple bit-inversion scheme. You might have better
