luck with this station if you try some tricks with custom software.

Subject: Software for SCS Pactor-II

ANother good program is XPWIN at http://www.goodnet.com/~gjohnson/xpwin.htm.
It supports SCS PTC II, many Kantronics TNCS, etc.

Unfortunately, XPWIN has not been updated yet to support PSK31 mode for SCS
PTC II. I heard rumors that the software developer is working on it but I
still have not seen the upgrade posted.

XPWIN is fairly easy to use but I like LOGGER better! And Logger is free!!

My favorite so far is NCwinPTC by PA0NC:

Does anybody know where the LOGGER software mentioned in this thread can
be found?

I think the rules are clear that it has to be publicly documented.
There's a big step I think between having the protocol documentation and
actually developing a working decoder. The fact that it's publicly
documented also does not give one the right to go into business selling
decoders that use the protocol without paying royalties - but you can
build one for your own personal use.

The Swiss-PTC private mode is another matter entirely as I understand
it. This is "encryption" but it's being used in the commercial bands,
not by hams.

Subject: Writelog on PSK & RTTY?

I doubt WRITELOG will perform as well as RITTY on RTTY.

But if it does, please post a message!
