Subject: Modem problems

I sure hope someone can help with this problem.I have a Bp2m Baypack and a
mfj-1224 interface. The problem is that both cannot copy a signal (rtty or
others) on hf unless it is a VERY clear signal which is hard to come by.
(the bp2m works good on 2mt packet) I have tried different antennas, radios,
computers. Also different programs like Hamcom, radioraf and such. I have
also tried grounding everything nothing seems to work, checked and double
checked the wiring. Still it will not copy (jibberish) or lock on to a
signal. I hope someone can point me in the correct direction.
                              Thanks N8TNJ

Now that you mention it... I was wondering what Steve was bitching about.
I guess either my monitor's settings are a bit different or my eyes are better
than I thought, because the only difficulty I found was due to the fact that
English is apparently a second language for the page's author. At any rate,
you can find real technical data on the units, including schematics and
possibly even pc board layouts, at KE5FX's website, www.qsl.net/ke5fx

Thanks, that was the URL I was looking for.
Could not read the pages at the original URL.
Eyes getting too old for the low contrast small print.

Since we just did a front end for Windows CE, do you (and the other hams in
this group) think a version of PakRatt for the Palm Pilot would be a viable
product?

Subject: USA HF nodes

My brother G4DIW is currently in San Diego but will shortly move up
the coast to Portland for the forseeable future. I want to try and
set up mail links but am not sure what HF packet/pactor BBS systems
may be near Portland. Can anyone help?
