Your problem is that you will claim that anything that you have
not seen working on your own machine "does not exist", no matter how
many others come up with examples of things that exist.

As I have pointed out before, your searching skills are obviously lacking.
So there is no need to bring up that you have looked for it.

Sure... Here you go:

I probably will, but I'll give it another year or two to develop first.
Since I'm not a LINUX user, my Win95/98 machines do not constantly crash and
mess up, and that's an important consideration. They are quite reliable, in
fact, and I'd like to keep them that way.

I've been reluctant to use LINUX because I've never known a LINUX user who
could keep a Win95/98 machine going for more than a week or so without
crashing in some awful way. Talk to a really experienced LINUX user, and
they'll tell you that they can only keep a Win95/98 machine going for a
matter of hours or even minutes between crashes!

That seems like an awful lot of inconvenience to put up with, just to use
LINUX on one of my machines. I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up the
reliable, crash-free performance I've been enjoying for years on my Win95/98
stuff.

I intend to wait until this problem with LINUX boxes mysteriously causing
nearby Win95/98 machines to become crash-prone has been tracked down and
resolved.

---------------------------------------------------

Or you could read the above as:

"I intend to wait until this problem of "LINUX Bigotry" has resolved itself,
so I won't look like some kind of idiot by associating myself with other
LINUX users."

Only one (1) person on this newsgroup twigged to the fact that my post above
was intended to poke fun at persons who depend upon negativity in order to
communicate and feel they must make exaggerated claims and tell outright
lies in order to promote their "new religion", LINUX.

Now go back a re-read the whole thing...

Get it this time?

I realize that baiting idiots is unsportsmanlike, much like shooting fish in
a barrel. I'm such a cad... ;-)

Pick up a copy of Huxley's little book, "Brave New World Revisited". It's a
non-fiction follow-up to his popular SF story, "Brave New World". I do not
exaggerate (grin) when I state that most people on this ng would find
Huxley's writing to be a bit too much over their heads. If you can follow it
though, you will find it well worth the effort. Be warned that Huxley makes
no attempt to talk down to the lowest common denominator in "Brave New World
Revisited". If you can't keep up, you'll simply have to be content with
being left behind and go back to reading the funny papers.

I have good reason to look down on "the big lie", and those who depend upon
it to further their interests.

I've noticed that the LandLine Lid community can't get by without "the big
lie", and to a lesser extent, neither can the LINUX community. In my
experience, this "need" points out an essentially rotten core. - The stink
of death.

Sorry, but I only respect those who act in a respectable manner. Those who
intentionally display such poor mental hygiene are pathetic, sometimes
destructive, but never worthy of anyone's respect.

So, as I said before...

I intend to wait until this problem with LINUX boxes mysteriously causing
nearby Win95/98 machines to become crash-prone has been tracked down and
resolved.

I recommend that you download the following rpms from
www.rpmfind.net:

ax25-utils-devel-2.1.42a-3
libax25-0.0.7-1
ax25-apps-0.0.4-1
ax25-tools-0.0.5-1

When you install them, the /etc/ax25 directory and docs will be available
to you.

install as root or using sudo:

rpm -ivh packagename.rpm
