The Athlon XP 2200+ on and ABiT AT7 MAX2 Motherboard 1GB DDR266 here runs
24/7 and has a CPU temp of 46'C, System temp of 52'C, but when running
something like SETI@Home or Prime95 full-time the average temps can be up
to 60/65'C.

PC is a Full Tower with three case fans, plus 400W PSU fan, AT7 MAX2 has a
System fan on the KT400 chipset, there's a CPU fan (sorry don't know the
make), and the Leadtek A250 Dual-head VGA Card also has a couple of
fans...I make it eight cooling fans in the case, and running RAID 1 with
120GB HDD's.

Believe it or not the noisiest equipment in the shack is the fan on the
back of the FT-847, or the Watson W-25AM when in use.

Shack is about to be moved and expanded to include four PC's, AMD XP
2200+, Intel P2 450 (8GB, 384MB), AMD K6 233 (3GB, 64MB), and an Intel 286
12MHz (125MB, 1MB), all 10/100Mbps networked.

XP 2200+ & P2 450 will run 24/7, for the MSG-1 (Meteosat 8) Weather Data
Dissemination Trial, K6 233 for 1K2 Packet, and 286 12 for the Internet
believe it or not (Arachne v1.70). Although the 286 12 will be 10Mbps
Networked to the XP 2200+ to use 512kbps ADSL, Hi!

Some might suggest I swap PC functions, but if it works...

Still using Win98SE here (except MSDOS 6.22 on 286), although the
Linux/Minix migration is only delayed by the MSG Dissemination Trial.

The Hitachi/IBM HDD's seem quiet here.

On behalf of Salop Amateur Radio Society, I do have a 512MB stick of PC100
for sale if someone can make a reasonable offer.

In the future, I may also have 4x 256MB sticks of PC2100 (DDR266) for
private sale, so watch this space.
