Yes I've got the option of a temperature-sensed switch-off.

Mine is turned off at the moment.

Do you mean the CPU is at 38'C ?  How long has it been running ?
Mine is still hovering around 48-50'C.

Whenever I've opened up the PC, the (copper) heat-sink never really seems
very hot at all. I totally agree with you regarding the supplied cpu
coolers as they are (in my experience) total bobbins.

The one included with my 1700x originally, it sounded like a very large
fan on an HT power supply. That was when it was INSIDE my PC cupboard.

Now all I hear are faint whirs from the 2 HDs and my 30amp WS-25amp PSU.
