Here's something for the "anoraks" amongst us to answer.

On the top left handside of most keyboards is a key with three characters
on it.

They are:-

1) ` 
2) ª
3) Ý

Can anyone tell me what they are and when you would use them ?

What puzzles me is that every keyboard I have ever seen has it and I 
have NEVER seen them used !
