hi all , I use pay as you go phones ( mobile ) as we do not make many
calls and the wife has the one on contract that is dead cheap - BUT it
seems the mobile phone co's would like me to go from p.a.y.g to contract
and keep ringing me .
the conversation usually go's like this :
me - hello if you are selling something ,im not interested
them - this is xyz phone co - we wher just wondering how often you top up
your phone ?
me - hi ,as it seems you dont understand english - let me repeat that
last bit - i,m not interested - why do you people keep ringing me - if I
wanted a contract - I would have one !
them - but we may be able to make it cheaper for you .
me - as I dont make many calls I doupt that - if I top up this phone
every 6 months you will be lucky - i only use it to receive calls - so it
would be pretty pointless to have a contract - and besides why should i
want to phone any one ? most of them are jerks anyway and I realy don't
want to talk to them , they usually don't have anything interesting to
say - bit like you really - but thanks for phoneing any way .

me thats ok - don't do it again - and take my number off your data base
please - next time I will be very unpleasent to who ever calls - it's a
good job i'm in a good mood today

works EVERY TIME ! - not had the same lot phone me twice and am working
on the theory that eventally they will L get the message vis :
IF - I want a contract phone then I will buy one - and that I am a
miserable ol git that does not kindly to sales calls !
( should be .> take in that sentance somewhere )
so if you hate sales calls - just have a go at them , no need to be too
rude - but just enough to deter em from ringing you again - and as we all
know they monitor all calls for quality and training purposes - wonder if
they use any of mine ?? :-)

oh by the way if YOU phone me just DON'T do it at any time after 6 pm -
thats when they all seem to call - had one wake me up at 10 45 the other
night ( having just dropped off ) and needless to say I was NOT amused
and told the idiot on the other end so - big time !
other ploys to try are :
put on false accent and claim not to speek "inglish " no comprende !
anounce that you are the local "ghost busting sevice " - that usually
stops em in their tracks .
say " sorry cant talk now the wife's just gone in to labour -please keep
the line clear as we are waitng for the doctor /midwife / ambulance etc
tell them you work for their poxy company and on your wages how can you
afford a contract - ( hang up quick with this one )
claim to be very deaf and could they speak up a bit - thats usually quite
fun if you let them shout louder and louder .
or if ALL else fails turn off your phone - turn on to make essential
calls ( du oh )
after all do you REALLY want to talk to half the people that phone you ??
but remember : the poor sods are only oing their jobsE THEIR LIVES
