Hi Pete.

Just to let you know that by careful manoeuvering I have managed to get a
reasonable pic of the old farmstead and outbuildings which I have e-mailed
to you.

For scale purposes, the distence from the right hand end of the yellow
field next to the property to the bottom of the garden was 1 Furlong,220
yds or 200 m if you like. The rest is in the e-mail.

We owned that field but when we left it was sold to Jack Allsop who,
highly originally, named his som John, who bought all our fields and many
others as well, his farm is now called Enchmarsh Farm (it didn't have a
name when we were there. It looks as though the house has become a B&B,
also owned by the Allsops. I can't see any reason for wanting to spend a
holiday there, though but I did spend my first 20 years there. Plenty of
peace and quiet - too quiet for me.

Today I will try a careful scan of the Roman road which is what does
matter. It seems the trick is to hover vertically above something then
slowly zoom in, giving the detail time to build up. I'll see.

I'm glad you got to find your own birthplace. It is always quite
interesting to see what something looks like even if, like me, you have
old photographs of the place.

I think I mentioned that the nearest village was 1 mile away and the
nearest town 7 miles away but that is probably not counted as isolated
compared with the wilder parts of the big countries like Canada and
Australia where you need to fly to get to the nearest town.

All the best for now.
