Hi Bob.
'definately' is the American spelling of ;definitely', just as 'ax' is
their way of spelling 'axe' and quite a few little words we don't know
about or bother about. I discoverd this when playing a game of computer
Scrabble which originated in America.
It is not as common as the grammar where "I have lost my handbag" becomes
"I lost my purse." No perfect tense in America, which I tried to explain
to Warren but I don't think he got the point as they only use the
imperfect over there.
