Hi Pete and all,

Funny how which movie became which person. (;->) True, if not for the nets an
ordinary torpedo bomber could have done the job so Wallis came up with
the skipping depth charge that bounced over them. When it came to explosives
delivery the man was a genius, the Tall Boy bomb not only took out
that pesky bridge but a lot of submarine pens too.

The Man Who Never Was told the story of grand deception, a body
washed up on shore with war plans may be considered bait. The Nazis
took it hook, line and sinker. Strange how many things about WW2
remained classified so long after the war, now those truths seeing
the light of day are highly educational. Chances are good some is still
classified, it takes a long time to sift through it all.

Heh, Patton didn't have a double until George C. Scott came along . (;->)
Probably because they couldn't find one and "old blood n' guts" was
so well known and frankly was unique in many ways. I don't think Eisenhower
or several other key American commanders had them either. Montgomery
on the other hand was rather easy to duplicate as was Churchill.
Now check this out, Dubya has a perfect double who appeared in
several TV shows, mostly comedy. Not only a look-alike but his
voice was indistinguishable and he had speech patterns and mannerisms
down pat.

Well, the farther back in time the war goes the fewer veterans
there are. I suppose those surviving are in their 80s but be that
as it may the truth behind the propaganda comes out with some interesting
stories to tell. Wandering off a bit, lately the previously gagged
have come forward with UFO stories and aircraft radio conversations
have come to light. It began with "foo fighters" that shadowed Allied
and German flights and continues on with civillian and military reports
and radio conversations. It seems if "they" have interest in military
installations, particularly where there are nuclear weapons. They're
smart, mostly stealthy observation with no contact, they know we shoot
first and ask questions later. Never mind the Prime Directive, it's a
matter of self preservation. Their Prime Directive is if you want to
live long and prosper don't get involved with Earth.
