Thank you Bob. As you and The Dobber (SK) set yourselves up as packet
authorities on standards and behaviour I ensure that I behave in exactly
the same way that you do and he did. You, my dear Shiva, are my role model,
my father figure. You set the example by which I strive to equal.

The fact remains that Paul failed to apply the tiniest bit of common sense
to what was being shown and to how it would end up. We take part in a
technical hobby (M3 breakers excepted) and I'd expect someone with a G4
callsign that must be getting on for 30 years old to demonstrate a bit of
common sense before sounding off that the hobby was doomed.

The article clearly states that transmission is intended to be local and to
power small devices. Yet the picture shows a huge antenna and a light bulb.
Simply the wow factor needed to get press coverage.

I see that, strangely as most dont get to here, a bull from The Axeman
(Axman) on the same subject. Of course as is his want, Warren, a bit like
you in fact, failed to comprehend what the article is all about. He drones
off about decay with distance and why it's not feasible. Again failing to
understand that the distances involved will be measured in centimeters.

Finally, a bit of conjecture. Why did they use 10MHz? Simple if you stop
and think about. You want to radiate some RF for experimental purposes.
Well you could apply for some kind of permit from your government. Or you
could use a ham band transmitter and licence and radiate a carrier and just
get on with it. Less paperwork, no questions.

If HF were to be used for power transmission, then it wont be on 10MHz when
13.5MHz and 26MHz are already used for huge (tens of kw) RF heater
systems. You'd put anything that you didn't want to affect existing users
of the spectrum in one of the spectrums dustbin/wastebin/dumpster areas.

Sheesh, 3 of you who have probably been licenced collectively for over a
hundred years and none of you has any clue whatsoever. Fairly sad really.
