Another "Morse to the rescue" tale:

A vicar locked in his church used the church bells to send out an SOS in
Morse code! The Rev Stephen Rathbone and his wife Jo had been
inadvertently locked in the church, and managed to gain the attention of
their parishioners in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

I'm not sure what speed an accomplished bell ringer could achieve
(Quasimodo for example:-) Not very great I'd imagine!

Had they been locked in a mosque it would have been so much easier - they
could have wailed from one of the minarets:-)
