Hello friends,

A new version of CLX was released today. It was uploaded to
ftp.funet.fi:/pub/ham/incoming in the evening of March 13, 1997.

I hope the archive maintainers will soon find the time to move
the files to the appropriate directories so you will find the files

     clx_207.tgz (2377954 Bytes)
         clx.txt (147136 Bytes)
          README (7118 Bytes)
     README_2.07 (1236 Bytes)

at the following places:

gonzo.rrze.uni-erlangen.de:/pds/freeware/hamradio/packet/packclus/clx
              ftp.funet.fi:/pub/ham/unix/Linux/cluster

CLX Version 2.07 released March 13, 1997

Version 2.07 is a complete package to be freshly installed. If you are
upgrading from a previous version of CLX, please follow the instructions
described in the documentation about migrating from an older version.

*** CHANGES ***

There are many bug fixes in 2.07 but some additional features
too including:

- CLX now has both national language support and supports national
character sets. Currently this is for system messages (adv_txt) only
and in a future release it will be expanded to also cover help files.

- Maidenhead grid locator now corrected for westerly longitudes.

- Fragmented incoming data packets are now treated correctly. There
was a problem with internet links using telnet protocol where the
DX spots came in three packets like

  "DX de PA3FJY: "
  " 144320.0 F5JKK IN87 5"
  "9++ in JO32              2130Z^G^G"

- Different errors located which produced memory leaks.

- sh/profile now works.

- The bup_db script was reworked and now allows backing up and now
allows backing up and restoring Udt tables.

Thanks for feedback and correspondence! Please switch to the new version
now and let us know of any problems.
