My first bike was a BSA Bantam 3 speed Reg no KPK 727C I wonder where it
is now. Then a Honda CB250 Gold in colour, this was in 1973. 1974 I
and no oil leaks. 1975 I was able to get my first BMW a 600/6 it pinked
like hell, this was quickly traded in for a Suzuki 3 cylinder water
cooled..Known as a kettle, did that bike go...
Next came the Honda 750 F2, changed the handlebars fitted a Yoshmura
exhaust....I can still see it...Got a photo...
1980 having got out of the cafe race style I returned to BMW, a 100RT
Boxer twin. This bike lasted for many years, did many a trip with the BMW
club even the odd trip to Germany. But then came the move to a new house
and the BM was sold to buy the leather settees that still adorn the front
room.
1991 I bought a Honda Transalp 600cc and this has carried me over many a
green lane, many years of commuting from Bromley to London and has never
missed a beat. I was going to drag it out of the garage to day for a ride
up to London, but it is poring with rain and I can't get to old girl wet!!
