Hiya Warren....and all  following along....;

So tell me about the Pepperage Farm commercial? It was nice.

I remember some of the vintage ship-to-shore and yes, it was
exactly like the Bell Operator for the mobile telephone,
that you had to have good leaf and shocks to carry that
monster of a tube radio...some mobile...but then the
power was ...mmmmm...well we had one of them for the
2m long ago....what a beast.

I never got to fool about on the marine radio, but then
if there were ship names to use, I had a reason for them.
lets see... "Pussycat" for one...for the homebrew
Trimaran built at the Downsview Base...that nearly didn't
see water...cuz it was too big....lucky they got it out
and then the motors it should have had and didm't...oooh
rowing it up the Toronto Lagoon to the moorings that were
$1.00 per week.....and well then too the Daystom 348 GRS
radio that was supposed to be the marine radio but the
owner got ...well what a story.... Anyone from DOC reading
along? Now you know about the Pussycat... a real boat
and thats why you never found her when you were DFing
the signal....<g>.

When you mentioned the prank about the Doctor and wife
and mistress.....gee they were a lot of them...even
up here the listening was juicy and WOW would those
tapes be fun to listen to now.

The best were the lonely ones on the boats at night....

Our HF was a Knight, then the SB 301... the VHF was a
homebrew of ...well needed lots of improvement. I remember
my pal in a garbage found a beautiful Halicrafters, that
he used on the air with the DX40 and DX60... Hey! No
fancy stuff for teens in transition between public and
high school. I remember your radio from some magazines
but then I was a big fan of the Tram Titan 2...and had one
and was very impressed....but our CBs became SONAR FS23
and SATELLITE 23A s in 1966... with Super Scanner
amd YES I had a Super Maggie once. It was a great old
reliable.

No more clues from me in the "Lebonny" mystery we have
for our readers. I am convinced ,once they google
it, they will be surprised, but then look at the famous
voices one could really meet for real via CB.

When I looked out today....we had a dusting...nothing like
what the folks got up north. Reminders that Buffalo and
Northern New York usually get it rather deep every year.

As for Al Gore...if he wants the snow...he can jolly well
have it.

I have better get going... I am checking with my friend on
the CB he just brought and I want the same. Gotta be careful
these days as I see some CB bound radios, putting out 100watts
which isn't a pleasant thought...and then one ad readers this
is the best slider of them all ...hmmmm.
