What was disgusting? Suggesting a man dead for 20 years designed the
camouflage or that he'd have painted them blue when it's obvious green and
orange would be the colours he have used? Any fule kno' that Picasso only
used blue for women's faces :-)
Nice to know your disgust is tempered with jibes at our world class
football team. 22 of the finest overpaid girl's blouses anywhere!
Joking aside, the observation about lack of reports relating to Aussie and
Spanish units is genuine. Before the shooting started, UK and US media was
filled with comments from Aussie PM Howard and pictures of the three wise
monkeys (Bush, Blair and Spanish PM Snr. Aznar). Barely a news report went
by without those 4 names being mentioned. Since the first shot was fired
reports haven't mentioned Messrs. Howard and Aznar nor has there been any
comment in UK media about the contribution from those countries. Now I'm
sure that there are both Spanish and Aussie units there but they're not
getting any press coverage in the UK which is strange. The last time Spain
was actively taking part in world events such as this was when their fleet
was sunk by Francis (I'll get my bowls) Drake so you'd think that their
1st campaign outside of the Spanish mainland in 400 years would get a
brief mention. Same for Aussie units. The last time they were active
outside of Australia (and you can correct me if I'm wrong) was in Vietnam
in the late 60's. So again with that in mind, you'd think it would get a
mention but it hasn't.
Even stranger is that with the UK/US position at odds to several other UN
security council members, you'd expect UK government to spin up as much
coverage of support from other countries taking the UK/US line in the
media as it could muster.
Australia is broadcasting news in English and listen to that (involves
radio = much more fun) or possibly one of you VK chaps could post a link
to an Aussie news site containing reports. One of you might want to give
the BBC a poke and ask them why you're being ignored.

N.B. This is just an observation of skewed media reports and not an
invitation to discuss the rights/wrongs of the war. You may want to do
that and your countries regulations may permit it (mine do) but such
discussion will be fraught with problems, will degenerate to abuse and
will achieve little. This is a rare occasion when Bob (Vk6BE) and I
probably agree.
