At last! A VK5 who isn't miserable and has a sense of humour! You're a
credit to your state Unlike the other two VK5's on here!
Slightly OT but I know the English invented cricket but I've never really
understood it or been interested in it. I can remember being introduced to
it at school aged 6 or so. It seemed interminably boring then, standing
around in cold, damp, fields waiting your turn with the bat only to be out
on the 1st ball! This was followed by more standing about fielding unless
the ball came your way when you had to run a bit. Nah, never seen the
attraction. There are still a few English fans, but they're all too old to
play it internationally. I believe that interest in other cricketing
nations is also waning. Certainly Caribbean countries were seeing fewer
children playing cricket and more play American sports like basketball.
I used to enjoy watching Aussie rules football, which was shown here for a
few years but I haven't seen it for a while now. Certainly more enjoyable
to watch than Women's Rugby (Rugby Union). More like proper Man's rugby
(Rugby League) but faster with jumping!
However, you'll find it difficult to bait Englishmen over our sporting
prowess. You see we know we're rubbish but we don't care. WE invent the
games, show you colonials how to play the basics, then let you get on with
playing them properly. It seems important to you :-)
I do apologise for the Spice Girls though. Whilst you despatched the
Minogue sisters our way, retaliating with those five was a rather OTT!

Have you got any spare sparrows? They're dying out back here in Blighty.
