AX3MCG/GAMES Final QSP

Commonwealth Games Special Event Callsigns
The Final Report
Amateur Radio Victoria expresses enormous appreciation to its members who
activated the AX3GAMES and AX3MCG callsigns during March, and those who
made contact with them from around the world.
While logs are still be tallied, it looks like some 10,000 contacts to
more than 155 countries occurred, during often difficulty and patchy
propagation conditions.
Some 17 operators on most days of March put the special event callsigns to
air using CW, Phone, PSK31 and a few Amateur Television contacts.
It will take a month to finalise the design of the QSL cards with a
Commonwealth Games theme.
While the 18th Commonwealth Games in Melbourne were officially declared by
Commonwealth Games chief Mike Fennell, in his closing address, as being
'simply the best', a very similar accolade is deserving of those who
activated the special event stations. Well done!
