That's the point of a podcast _subscription_. If you decide you want to
see or hear more clips, you subscribe and your computer downloads them
automatically.

It'll only take 5 or 10 minutes if you've got a slow connection (e.g.
dialup). It took about a minute on my low end DSL connection. I'll gladly
trade the time for quality.

I can't do a streaming video, but I can probably set it up so that it can
play as a "progressive download". That way you can start playing it before
it is 100% downloaded. This shouldn't be much of an issue if you are using
iTunes to view the podcast.

I'll also try to get a version posted to Google video, but they have been
rejecting it because they say it doesn't meet their terms of service
requirements. I'm not sure why this is and it is hard to get any type of
"customer service" from Google.

I was concerned about using this as the first video since it doesn't really
explain anything. I posted it first because it is the smallest video that
I've produced for the podcast. I'm sort of using it as a test to make sure
that the servers it is hosted on can handle the traffic. I think has the
weeks go by and more and more video podcast episodes come online that you
will see the theme more clearly.

I don't understand how you can say "It'll only take 5 or 10 minutes if
you've got a slow connection (e.g. dialup)." The time to download is
determined by the quaility setting AND the length of the video. And so
far you have said nothing about the lengths of these podcasts. A 5 minute
video is will not be the same as a 30 min video.

Empirical evidence - I've already downloaded the video in question.

Video podcasting and other forms of IPTV are designed for high-speed
internet connections. It is just too difficult to try to accomodate
dial-up users. The iPod version of the first podcast is about 15 MB. I
also hope to have a version on Google video, if they will ever approve it,
that will require less bandwidth. So far the longest video I've made for
the podcast is about 10 minutes long and the H.264 version of that will be
about 90 MB.
