Hi

Right now I fully expect to get shot down for this but who cares....

So, I'm thinking, in a new location, New Zealand. Not quite got to grips
with the planning aspect of antenna erecting. So I was thinking about
doing something about the wet bit of string I call an antenna.

Currently I have a 40Mtr dipole in an sort of ground plane configuration.
Works great on 40, but plays a bit of havoc with the automatic atu on the
other bands. So I was thinking of doing either.....

Buying a commercial made vertical, e.g. the hygain av14avq, or sticking a
nest of home brew dipoles in the loft. The xyl would not be too happy
with all the wires running across the garden :-( But the vertical I can
get away with.

So the question is do you have any experience's of using the hygain
vertical, if so can you enlighten me.

Or would recommend the nest of dipole in the loft, definitely cheaper to
do, but the loft runs east/west, which means the dipoles would be broad
side onto north/south.

So your opinion please....

Cheers
