Hi Ian, the defenition of a vertical is "A device which radiates equally
badly in all directions, and receives noise equally well from all
directions" Jokes aside I have had a lot of fun with an 14AVQ, but it must
have a good radial system. The nest od diploes is a better solution and if
you live in a steep pitch roofed house where you can perhaps slope the
free ends down, the antenna's will become a little omni.
