Well, well into the New Year SIX continues to sing like a nightingale.
Openings have continued into Albany daily since December 4th, that is now
6 weeks. These are the best sporadic E conditions I have had in 52 years
of working 6 metres.
Yesterday's (16/1/07) logging: All were heard and all except a couple were
worked. The R callsigns are beacons VK8RAS is Alice Springs, 5RVB is
Barossa Valley, 3RMV is Wannon (Vic.) 4RTL is Townsville.
From 0752 WAT: VK4??, VK2BZE,2BHO,2ILO, 5LY,4ADM, 3GJW, 4DUG, 2YVG,7AC
(lost him in band noise), 4RTL,8RAS,5RBV,3RMV,5BC, 3SIX (on CW).
Today (17/1/07) two beacons are in evidence at good strength - VK3RMV and
VK5RBV, but no amateur signals heard yet. Presumably most will be at work.
Bob VK6BE.
