                             General information.
   
   South Sandwich Isl., VP8. Jon N0JK, writes; The S. Sandwich DXpedition
   VP8THU is now QRV on HF. VP8THU MAY operate on 6M for brief periods.
   No way to predict if or when they will be on 6M, but I discussed po-
   tential 6M prop. and optimum times for EU, NA, SA, AF and Asia with
   the team members. Please do not ask the HF ops to QSY if they are busy
   working the many who need S. Sandwich for an all time "new one." 73,

   Midway Isl., KH4. Jim, G3RTE and Phil, G3SWH will be active on both SSB
   and CW from Midway between 30 March and 6 April. They have already se-
   cured the special callsign of W4M. Propagation permitting, their main
   objective is to work as many European stations on as many dands as pos-
   sible. They expect to have two stations on the air on all bands between
   40 and 10 metres. "We are happy to meet the costs of transport to and
   from the island", Phil says, "but are looking for sponsorship and do-
   nations towards our living expenses, printing QSLs and the like". QSL

   Faroe Isl., OY. Tom, DL2RTK and Ric, DL2VFR will be active (on 160-6
   metres CW and SSB, with some RTTY and PSK31 depending on demand) as
   OY/DL2RTK and OY/DL2VFR from Streymoy, Faroe Islands on 20-22 May.

   Iceland, TF. Tom, DL2RTK and Ric, DL2VFR will be active (on 160-6 met-
   res CW and SSB) from Iceland in May. Look for them signing TF/homecall

   East Malaysia, 9M2. 7M2VPR will be QRV as 9M2/7M2VPR from East Malaysia
   from January 24 to 27. Look for him on 6 through 160 meters. QSL via

   Trindade Isl. PY0T. The Araucaria DX Group, The team expects to be on
   the air some time during the late hours of February 18 and to operate
   non-stop with as many as four stations until their departure on March
   2. Operations on 160 through 6 meters. Special plans have been made to
   insure that the low bands and 6 meters are activated with appropriate
   antennas and experienced operators dedicated to overcoming the chal-
   lenges these bands offer. The 6M station consist on 2 X FT 847 + PT3
   Preamplifier + 7 element loooong Yagi, + 1KW by SB 220 amplifier. Watch
   for the DXpedition website www.Trindade2002.com to become active no
   later than January 19. Direct questions regarding the DXpedition to

   operating begins. They have been issued the special callsign PW0T. This
   fact has special meaning to many of the crew because several of them
   were participants in last year's extremely difficult and dangerous yet
   successful PW0S DXpedition to St. Peter & St. Paul Rocks. The group is
   pleased to have the services of renowned QSL Manager Steve KU9C, anot-
   her operator who had to cancel due to business obligations. Your kind

   Pacific Tour. Samoa, 5W. and Vanuatu YJ. Michel, F6COW, and Dominique,
   F6EPY, will be QRV from Samoa and Vanuatu during February and March.
   First stop will be from Upolu, Samoa from February 19 to 28 as 5W0MP
   and 5W0DA. Next it's on to Efate and Espirito Santo, Vanuatu as YJ0AOW
   and YJ0APY from March 4 to 15. The operation will be mainly CW with an
   emphasis on Europe on 12, 17, 30, 40 and 80 meters. They will have an
   ICOM IC706-MKIIG, FT100D and two FL2100B amps. Look for them to be QRV
   also on digimode. Suggested frequencies are as follows: CW 50085, SSB

   form the very many EU stations that I qso on 6 mts. The only way for
   qsling is direct (no buro) to my TG address and for the return postage
   $1.- or two fresh I.R.Cs (I.R.Cs over 5 years old,have no value in here
   also, they have to be stamped by the post oficce that sold them, w/out
   stamping worthless,even if they have the name of the country printed on
   them with red ink),I did the best I could to work as many as possible,
