Hello .. to the YL Network on Packet, as well where ever
and whenever they might read this;
When our packet YL @WW was humming along, there was created
a group on a Internet site and yes I still get messages for
the net there, more then anything from here on Packet.
I still subscribe and get notifications of Echolink net meetings
etc, even while I haven't a clue at to the time here, as compared
to where the posting came from or what area of the world.
Noticed too , that lately traffic on there is turned from Packet
postings and most is now carried on and via that site and Echolink
which is making itself a net or network onto it's self...etc.
I thought it was funny the first time on VHF 2m when I checked
into a net ... how lost I was...mentioned packet. "Oh" was
the response and they moved on...so did I. Also with 20meters
there is a YL network on there...same result they are only a
20meter Net onto themselves ...so where does this put the YL @WW
Packet Network, but a network onto it's own self and thats it.
Bottomline is due to the passed innvolment of my deceased mother
and once Maria, I stayed. Now so many have drifted away,
and no longer want to be here ... they never post ...thus I
ask is this the end? Close to it? Too bad ...Oh well.
I have offered Maria the chance to participate ...but there is
no one she really knows. Not anymore. Pamela in Australia
isn't on anymore, and I still miss Alf her husband..miss his
postings here and the snail mail etc.
Even recipes via YL have gone ...now to recipes @ww ... so ????
Just some thoughts. It would be nice to be able to go to
the website and feel a part, or the 2m net..or 20m ...but there
isn't any bond. Funny... or mabe it is just me, or I am
observing it diferently...yeah must be me. Ok... ttfn
