Hi Sara & others,
Yes the Christchurch earthquake is a major one and many people are
affected. Many old brick buildings had their bricks fall off. Roads &
railway tracks were ripped up. Civil Defense & the Army were cablled out
to look after things. News cameras from helocopters showed the flooding
from burst water supply pipes. The damage is liklely to be more than a
billion dollars. The last earthquake to do this much damage was at Napier
in the 1930s. I remember the Edgecombe earthquake, but that one mostly
affected a farming area.
I don't know about the New Zealand's Sea snails, but we have a problem
with poisonious Sea Slugs. Dogs who eat them washed up on the beach often
die of the poison.
Hi to Peter,
I will miss your bulletins once your house sells & you are permanently in
Brasil. Maybe you can Telnet from Brasil or find a suitable BBS?
My plum tree has started to blossum. Spring is here in 3 weeks according
to the calendar.
I went to a job interview last week, but no result there.
I hurt my back putting out dead, large CRT monitors for the annual
inorganic rubbish collection at my mother's house. Putting my socks on is
difficult with the muscle pains in the back. It makes me feel like I'm 70
years old, HI. Getting up off the floor after picking up a dropped paper
is difficult.
