Hello to Billie, Michael, Peter, Roger and all of you reading this.
We have had rather a strange summer this year - the general opinion is
that summer was too short - We had about a week of really hot weatheer.
My garden - what can I say - we are enjoying the lettuce and greens.
Very feww blueberries - finally getting a few blossoms on the beans - but
no beans forming - regular tomatoes are still green but the cherry
tomatoes are finally getting ripe. I guess I could say it was a salad
garden year.
We went to a couple of picnics - got the dates mixed up for a couple of
others. This is Labor Day weekend - yesterday was a beautiful sunny day
but now the clouds have moved in.
Peter, hope your house sells fairly quickly - that someone will see it
and realize it's just what he/she has been looking for. I hope you'll
keep in touch.
Michael, I read that there was an earthquake on the Suth Island yesterday
- near Christ Church. Hope it didn't do much damage. Here in Olympia we
have a lake below the state capitol - it's been closed to swimming and
fishing because of New Zealand mud snails. They have no natural enemies
here and so far other remedies aren't working.
Blllie - your weather should be cooling down soon. I think autumn is my
favorite season - as long as I don't think about the dark days of winter.
This seems to be all I have to report. I still like packet and miss the
interesting discussions.
Best wishes to everyone for a great September!

PS - Closing on an encouraging note - wee had 9 checkins on our Monday
night YL Net this week - and 1 OM. Best it has been this year!
