[It is Canada Day today 1st July & the Queen is visiting according to the
radio news]
In June I tidied up my house a bit, ran some tv cables to the downstair
room (not all connected yet) & took a steel pole back to my mother's house
(re-erected it in the back-yard for the end of an 80 metre dipole).
I started work on a EM84 Magic Eye Tube project. So Far I mounted a 9 pin
miniature socket on a baseboard & built a LT [6.3 Vac] + HT [260 Volts DC]
power supply. I didn't do much packet from this QTH last month.
My Cats Roger & Narla are doing well. They have their Winter coats on &
sleep on the bed fairly often at night. All my blankets are on (including
a 3 stripe Hudson Bay Blanket - brought to me by Kevin VE7OVY) my bed. The
winter has been wet & the Southern Cross stars are very high in the sky.
Back at my mother's house I sorted out the old TV aerials preparing to
re-use them & decided an old PC monitor wasn't worth fixing.
My new 4 GB USB memory stick is coming in very handy as the 256 MB one
just couldn't take all the data I needed to back up.
At Church I washed the dinner dishes after a course (Alpha) showing on a
DVD player was run for ten weeks every Tuesday night. In July it starts
again but on a Sunday evening. I think I will again be having dinner at
Church & continuing being a dish-washer & cleaner-upper.
My car passed it 6 monthly inspection, but the testing station man says I
need a new tyre before Christmas & that the underneath is showing surface
rustiness. I'll be sad to retire my car for another one as it has an ideal
mounting place for my 4 band VHF/UHF FM radio.
