My search for lightweight batteries has uncovered a number of 12V/13.2V
LiIon packs. These have 14.8V @ 4800mAH cells inside. Whilst they only seem
to be available from America which adds to delivery charges, the exchange
is very beneficial right now. 

What I'm waiting to find out is if the regulator is linear or switching. I
dont want to punt for an item if the regulator obliterates the HF bands. A
linear wouldn't be too bad... dropping 14.8 to 13.2 and pulling upto 3A is
only around 5W to waste. 

But they do look enticing. Twice the capacity for 1/3 weight of my current
SOTAing SLA battery.
