Subject: Fooling the 817 shut down?

I've just had a thought about the FT817's limited battery life.

Usually the rig will die once 7.5 volts has been reached.

Now I wonder if it's possible to fool the rigs voltage sensor to read
a higher voltage so that it's possible to squeeze the dregs of life out
the batteries for low power ?

I know that it's in the calibration menu's, switch on whilst holding the
ABC keys down.

Just a thought.
