Hi Mark,
ROTFLOL, LOMAO, and more! You handled that dyed in the wool (my apology
to your sheep ranchers) iron clad, die hard with a vengance, hard core
land line lid like a pro!
BTW, if I use a CB walkie talkie which puts out a radio signal (unless it
has a really long telephone cord) am I using CB or Amateur Radio? If I
modify it for 10M is it an Amateur HT or still a CB set? If I use my
callsign while talking on a cell phone am I using Amateur Radio, cell
radio or land line?
I used to modify lots of commercial gear and used it on Amateur
frequencies under my callsign but never considered them Amateur
equipment. I did however consider their use in Amateur Radio. Was I right
or was I wrong? Soooo, if you slap together bits of old (and some new,
hi) commercial microwave gear and tweak it for Amateur use, like those
old FM rigs I mentioned, is this commercial gear or Amateur? Uh, is this
commercial WiFi or Amateur Radio?
Pardon me but I just need a bit of advice on this from another
perspective. Perhaps being in the land down under gives you sort of
another slant on things or am I just suffering from paralax?
Oh, let the LLL keep "her" head in the sand, no harm done. Think of it
this way, if shoved deep enough it will pop out in Ozzy Land, thus saving
you the price of that airline ticket. (;->)
