Hi David and all,
Ham or not, would you consider someone leading the torch bearing angry
villagers to the TV transmitter site just a bit cheeky? Sounds like a
pretty good gag to me!
Of course hams and broadcast engineers know that RF is good for you,
probably stimulates brain cells 'cause let's face it, we're just a bit
smarter than the dope next door complaining of interference to his
toaster.
Yup, cell phones adjust transmitter power according to their recievers'
perceived signal strength thereby keeping a more or less constant link to
the tower so in order to reduce the danger from RF exposure one should
use the phone as close to the tower or antenna site as possible. Weird
paradox isn't it? Yes, the cornices of school buildings should be
peppered with cell antennas and there are other considerations to be
taken into account in their construction. They should be tall to allow
accomodation of as many antennas on the roof as possible and should be
built as close to high voltage transmission lines as possible. As for
existing structures the power companies should reroute the lines near the
schools but not over the roof coming too close to the antennas. In this
manner the EM field surrounding the schools can be made as high as
possible thereby increasing brain activity of both students and teachers.
Yes, I had some teachers who needed a bit of stimulation but my solution
was a rather novel idea, I brought in my Tesla coil for a demonstration
and it caused considerable stimulation, especially in the classrooms
having metal frame desks.
There you have it, electricity properly applied is good for you,
especially when the voltage is high enough to motivate children. For
those of you who have been following the thread on child dicipline you
may consider the use of an electric cattle prod, stun gun, taser or
whatever suits your fancy. Electricity is GOOD for you and if you've ever
tongue tested a battery you know it tastes good too so forget the orange
juice for breakfast, have a cold glass of electrons instead, they contain
vitamin E.
