I'm using Linksys gear, on 802.11b protocol (24ghz, 11mb) with good sucess/
. My footprint is within a 3100' building, but no problems with bandwidth wil
while running 4 workstations at the same time. I did have problems with
interference between the LAN and a 2.4 ghz (ooops...I meant 802.11b on
2.4ghz, 11mb above...not 24 ghz!) wireless telephone system. I had to reboot
the phone system several times to get it to choose a frequency that was away
from the lan freq, but once that was done, all worked well.
I'd like to know more about the antenna systems some are using for greater
distance, and any other tips. Does anyone know if the Linksys 802.11b can be
made to change frequencies, or if the frequencies can be manually selected?
