Hi Dave,
What do you use for "BBS Prompt" in the "Options", "Personal/BBS Info"
section of the Winpack menu?
For correct results in Winpack, it needs to be more than just a simple
"greater than" sign.
Winpack uses the Prompt message in several ways when downloading. Firstly
it knows when you've logged on correctly (by seeing the prompt), so it can
start issuing commands to read mail and/or bulletins. Secondly it needs
the Prompt message to know when each downloaded message ends, so it can
save it & request the next Mail or Bulletin.
If it sees something "looking the same as the Prompt" at other times, it
can cause problems like you've described.
ZL1AB BBS (H for help)>
is the example of what I use to suit my local F6FBB type BBS. Hopefully it
unique enough to not appear inside a Mail or Bulletin.
The prompt is different for normal users, compared with Xpert users.
You login manually with F2 & make note of what your BBS sends you, then
use as much of that info (that stays the same each time you log in) as
possible in the Prompt box.
I leave out the first bit of the prompt that gives the number of users
currently connected, as that varies each time I connect. Date/time info is
also not useful in the BBS Prompt.
There is help available from the Personal/BBS box with the F1 key. More
help is available in the main Winpack help file & other documents that
come with Winpack. See the BBSprmt.txt file for lots of details from G4IDE
SK.
