Well, Warren that is something you can not accuse me of, starting late in
the game. I built my first computer using a 2650 processor about 30 years
ago, and have been through the whole gamut since.I taught word processing
to primary school kids. I have been retired for 23 years now so you can
guess how long ago that was. That doesn't mean I have changed systems
everytime Mr Gates (OK he's retired but his shadow looms large over the MS
system.) clicked his fingers and said, "Here is the latest and greatest
boys, I need another billion". My first use of Windows was 3.1.1

Excuse me for thinking YOU were whipping the dead horse Warren. You keep
coming back to the subject like a dog returning to its... well we won't go
into that.

I am not shying away from a little work either. If you saw my schedule for
the week you would not say that.

And, by the way I was quite familiar with DOS, inluding the supposed king
of them all - DRDOS. Used them, programmed using them. No big deal.Didn't
have a struggle with them.Programming Commodore 64s was more difficult
with its unique system.

I am gonna get a cup of tea. You do the same Warren and give us a rest.
BTW Carnarvon is in deep dodo through floods. They are plucking people off
their roof tops in the surrounding country side using helicopters. Not bad
for a drought year?
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.

 Why are
you whipping a dead horse? The old grey mair just ain't what she used to
be, she's dead. Don't you think we all know by now you don't like 7 and
it's time to move on? <bork>

Well it may not all be done for you, some shy away from a little work.
It's easier than you think putting an icon on the desktop, just open the
main folder and if need be poke around in the sub folders until you find
the .exe file. Then right click on it and select "send to" in the pop up
menu, click on "desktop (create shortcut)" and you'll have your icon
right there on the desktop. No thumbs down to MS, wrong didgit on the
mouse.

Seems to me some have become lazy while others started late in the game.
You guys would really have a tussle with DOS and early versions of
Windows where you had to MANUALLY set up the computer's hardware and
write command strings, etc. 7 makes you do a little work and you freak
out, if you thumbs down Microsoft do it right, Windows makes you lazy and
just a bit stupid. Heads up world, computers have taken over while you
slept, wake up before the robots revolt cuz Wil Smith can't save you.
(;->)
