Hello to John E13DIB and Peter G6HJP ...
I recently got a ACER 5410 Laptop for my wife Maria, so she
and I would clash over the computer. It came loaded with VISTA.
Yes John and Peter, I did note some very slow things it does, but
then so does all the other OS going back to DOS v6.22 which does
the work even faster...but then look at the size of the programs
then.
The ACER laptop like all the rest in the stores over here in CANADA
came without a floppy disk drive, so anything she stores on floppys
has to be burned for her CD/DVD drive, which is removalble for what
reason? Seemingly to make room for a floppy disk they don't even
have? My old Toshiba had both floppy disk and CD drive ... so
until I hear direct from ACER, as to why and what replaces the DVD
CD drive ....??? ...well.
The disk cleanup works ok ... same speed as my Windows XP ...but
when the defrag is used ... better to head out for a coffee and
chew n choke, cuz it is going to be a long time.
Actually John and Peter ... I am not happy with VISTA. Maria
of course owns the laptop and works with it daily, so she is
better to comment on it ...but thats what I have found, when
I look at her laptop.
Thank you for your comments on VISTA. Appreciated, and I
will look forward to more from you both. Also will send copys
of your posting to her laptop.
