Well SIX metres continues to perform with sporadic E openings into all
states and New Zealand from my location in the south of West Austraia. The
band first opened here on 4th December and continues to open virtually
daily ever since - that is 22 days. I have operated SIX since 1955 and
this is the best conditions I have ever experienced eclipsing 1958 - 1960
with the exception of a lack of JA signals which we had then. Backscatter
is also evident with VK6HK being heard on several occasions (400 km north
of here).
Two has been silent so far except for a couple of short openings. TWO was
worked from Perth to Hobart - nearly 4000 km - certainly sporadic E since
no troppo conditions were experienced in the south.
