Hi Bob,

Yes I had heard that planned burning in early spring (while the forests
are still damp?) does prevent major, destructive summer bushfires.
It was on TV that the Aboriginal people used to practice planned burning.

Yes it wouldn't be possible to do "burning off areas" where houses had
been built amoung the bush. While it is a nice location, the risk from
fire would be obvious to the owners?
