EDITOR: I have posted this one sighting AS A SINGLE SIGHTING REPORT, because
it came from a close friend of mine in the UK. He is also a fellow Radio Ham
and as allowed me to print his name and Call sign. Most sightee's ask to

UFOs over the City of Sheffield in the UK.
My name is Trevor aged 50, a radio ham (M0TWS). I was Introduced to UFO's by
Peter ZS2ABF whom does the UFOs report Bulls via packet radio,
never been a believer in UFOs but always open minded, the universe is a big
place, and I believe that we or not the only ones out there.
The above evening we went outside to put out a fire that had started with a
firework from the neighbors, when myself and friend noticed this red glow in
the distance travelling from the south to north, as it got closer it was like
a tennis ball shape at first glowing red, the largest it got was against
my small finger nail about 1/4 size of that.
At first when it was noticed the red light seemed to be Illuminating the
clouds above the UFO, the fog and cloud base was at 1000feet took note of this
on a early weather report off the TV.
At first I thought that it was a light on a low flying aircraft, but I soon
dismissed that as the red glow was constant and not flashing on and off like
normal, so the next thought was a Chinese fire lanterns, I have seen these in
the past and the way that they glow is completely different than the way that
this was glowing constantly.
It was very slightly illuminating some parts of the clouds when it first
appeared, as if it had just come through the base of the clouds.
As it came nearer it became more of a round shape, like a tennis ball, but as
it came closer it was more flat dome shape, it didn't fly directly, imagine a
clock the 0900 is the horizon, and above me is 1200, the object disappeared at
about 1100 position.
The way it disappearance was strange I did give it the benefit of doubt, was
it a flare ? no I have been in the TA Army when I was young and know what
flares look like, the object went upwards into the clouds, it again partly
Illuminated the surrounding clouds as it travelled upwards and then the red
light went to
a small pin prick of red and it vanished.
This is the first time I have seen anything like the above. I hope it helps
and hope that the information is informative to people who take these things
seriously.
