Loring Air Force Base UFO Incident
Note: Thank you to the serviceman who sent this information , I would really
like to hear from any other serviceman or woman who served at the Loring AFB
who had witnessed the objects over the base, or who may have knowledge of
these sightings. I do have a number of reports from serviceman on the UFO
incidents from Loring.
Any names that are provided in the report below we have changed the names to
protect the privacy of the individuals.
Additional Information:
That was a very long time ago and my memory of what happened is far from
clear. I was an NCO assigned to SRAM maintenance in the Integrated Maintenance
Facility in the Weapons Storage Area. I lived in Base House at Presque Isle
(this was actually a former Air Force Facility that they had retained for
housing). There were three of us (from Presque Isle) that car pooled together,
one named (Ben) who worked in the same building as I and the other (whose name
I can't recall) worked in a building adjacent to the weapon storage area. I
believe it was some sort of logistic function. The weapons storage area was
very remote from the rest of the base and the logistic group was the only
other group near the weapons storage area. As I recall the actual weapon
storage area we used was a small section of a much larger storage area.
The part we didn't use was abandoned and we were sectioned off by a separate
fence. There were also a few abandoned buildings within the weapon storage
area that were also abandoned and separately fenced off. One in particular
comes to mind that was completely sealed, no windows and the door welded shut.
I believe their were numerous other abandoned buildings near the older
abandoned part of the weapons storage area. At any rate as I recall the
incidents (the visits from the UFO) occurred over a few nights. I believe I
became aware of these from our car pooler who worked in logistics. He seemed
to be aware of more of what was going on.
I don't believe he was assigned to the 42nd munitions maintenance as we
normally had limited contact with the rest of the base although most of the
personnel lived on base. On the morning of the last/most significant visit I
probably was with the early group at the guard gate that walked up to our
facility, possibly I may have been the one who stated that their must of been
another UFO. I believe the car pooler from the logistics' group may have told
us about the earlier events and at some point indicated that it was a
helicopter (of course he had not seen it and was only telling us what he had
been told). I can recall the discussions about the security police asking to
shoot at it and being told not to despite the UFO about sitting on one of the
weapons storage structures (Igloo).
I also recall the commanding officer (I don't recall if it was the base
commander or munitions squadron commander) coming to the weapons storage area
while the UFO was there or just after. I believe the security police may have
told me that. I don't recall being called up to the squadron headquarters and
being told that anything, but I probably just don't remember that. I think the
car pooler from the logistics group had told us that they had obtained/ordered
some type of flares that they were going to use to deter the helicopter if it
came back. I don't recall anything about Air Force helicopters being brought
in, but I may not have been aware of that or just don't remember. I thought a
group of fighter aircraft were assigned to the base following this last
incident and were there because of the incident, presumably to react in the
even of another visit. But of course that was a long time ago and my memory
could be flawed.

Columbia Missouri A Silver Bullet Shaped UFO (Police Involved)
Date: 1981 (?)
Time: 2:00 a.m.
Location of Sighting: Looking North from Rock Bridge Elementary School over
the city of Columbia.
Number of witnesses: Two plus numerous police.
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Silver bullet shaped.
Full Description of event/sighting: Well, I've not written of this sighting
for 25 years but I guess I'm not afraid to speak out anymore. My husband and I
saw the article on AOL and decided to lend our support to those, like us, who
have had the daylights scared out of them in this situation. When we were
first married we would get our jollies out of listening to the police scanner
and racing to fires, multi-vehicle wrecks, and any other interesting incident.
We were listening late one night to some police obviously excited in their
transmissions, telling dispatch they were chasing some bright objects in the
night sky but were unable to get very close to them. I grabbed my camera and
we ran out and jumped into the car and raced to the location, near Rock Bridge
State Park where they had last reported seeing the lights. We parked, facing
North, in the parking lot of the Elementary School.
We got out and hadn't walked very far when we looked up just above the tree
tops over Columbia and saw an object, who's size was difficult to distinguish
due to the distance, but it seemed very large. The bullet shaped object had
lights around the outside that seemed to be moving towards the back all the
time and had several lights shining down onto the field across the road and
they moved like the spotlights move that they use for grand opening events,
like on a swivel on the object. When I saw this thing, whatever it was I was
instantly terrified. I mean really terrified! I've travelled all over the
world now doing all sorts of very dangerous things, from climbing without
protection in the Alps and whitewater Kayaking. I've come close to death more
than few times in my life, but I've never been this afraid before or since. I
was shaking but put the camera to my eye and started snapping. We both started
backing quietly into the blackness and towards the car.
I felt ready to bolt at any minute. (My husband told me later he had the
identical feeling before I had even told him and he's a great big tough guy!)
I knew, as did he, they or it, or whatever somehow knew we were there
watching. What a creepy feeling it was. Anyway, as we backed up, the bullet
shaped object suddenly shot off to the west and disappeared, not just faded by
literally disappeared! Now my Dad was a college professor and he taught his
children to be clear-thinking, honest and critical of all things not
explainable by science. I'm sure there's a logical explanation for all this,
even if it's not something we really know about yet. The newspaper wanted to
talk to my husband and I separately about the "sighting" and we agreed and
came up with the identical "story". I gave the newspaper my roll of film but
they said the pictures were too underexposed and they were mostly black when I
got them back. I just wish I had thought about having the film exposed at a
specialty studio or somewhere that could have underexposed the film a little.
Who knows? I read a story earlier about some people who mysteriously "forgot"
the incident. If it hadn't been for the newspaper article and having to write
things down, I'm sure we would have forgotten also. We have to talk about it
now and then to keep it from fading from our memory also.

Pilot And Co Pilot Witness UFO Over The Atlantic Ocean
Location: One hours flying time into the Atlantic Ocean after taking off from
Isle de Sol.
Witnesses : Pilot and Co Pilot. (South African)
Date: +- 1984.
Description of sighting: I am a retired Airline pilot having flown passengers
all over the world. I have seen many UFO's or strange things whilst in the air
both during the day and night. This one stands out in my mind. We were one
hours flying time over the Atlantic Ocean flying from east to west on our way
to the USA. We saw through the Flight cabin window a large Blimp/Zeppelin
type craft. It was very large and looked just like the German Zeppelin
passenger craft of the 1930/40's. It had no wings or passenger basket hanging
below it and no windows. We fly at 30000 feet and that type of craft isn't
flying anymore. The UFO just continued on its way and we on ours. We did not
report it as we had strict silence rules and if one reported that type of
thing we could be in big trouble and it could ruin our careers. Now I am
retired I can talk about these things.
After flying to America we always had three or four days off for R&R. During
these occasions I met and became very friendly with the Astronaut John Glenn.
He said that when they left Earth on their journey to the moon they were
accompanied along the way by three UFO's. They took photos and radioed to NASA
control reporting the sightings. The public radio broadcast was cut at that
time so that viewers/listeners could not hear these details, which were kept
secret.
John glen also told him that when they got to the moon they were not the first
to arrive!.
Last year he went to Bermuda and visited a centre were they saw a video of
the earth from space. It showed Three large points of light emitting from
under the sea in the Pacific ocean. These lights have never been explained.

Bigfoot - A Large Brownish Red Creature Ran Across The Road
About Bigfoot, It is my second encounter, in 1986 a large brownish red
creature ran across the road in front of me and (name removed) when he was in
the first grade. Apparently he knew where we lived because at night I began
to feel I was being watched. About 3 or 4 weeks later, the dogs in the kennel
in the Corral barked all night, finally at 3:00am I went out to let the dogs
out, everyone in the house was sleeping. I went out, opened the gate, took
about 10 steps toward the kennel and he (Bigfoot) screamed (yelled) at me. It
was the scariest sound I've ever heard, I stopped and said OH Sh--. then I
ran to the pen and the dogs passed me running into the house. The next
morning I went out to the corral and he had broken a cedar post off that had
been set in concrete for 2 years, so I think he left his calling card.
At sundown here, you can go out and hear them hollering to each other. One
will yell in one direction and another one will answer him, then another one
will answer that one from another direction. So, there here. I have feelings
for them, and I've learned a lot. I believe this particular one lives
underground. I know where. He has to be underground because he lives near
people, and hunters are everywhere during hunting season, so I feel he goes
underground at day break and comes out at sunset. He gets very frustrated and
beats tin on the barn and it sounds like King Kong. My son has had different
experiences with Bigfoot also. As for me, I think BF is curious about me, and
I think he watched me through the windows when we first moved into this house.
This is getting a little long, I'll write you more later.

Yankton, South Dakota YC Campus Observatory Hill A Silent Triangular UFO
Date: September 1987
Time: 9:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Yankton, South Dakota YC Campus Observatory Hill.
Number of witnesses: 8
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Triangular.
Full Description of event/sighting: This happened during an astronomy class
field trip to a local observatory to view what planets were visible. We
counted how many rings we could see around Saturn and moons around Jupiter
etc. Once I finished I was outside of the observatory on Observatory Hill
above Douglas Ave. There were possibly 10 or more people outside including the
teacher. As we were all chatting suddenly most of us fell silent as a
triangular shaped object became visible to the southwest of us. There were no
discernable features, however, as the object appeared to be transparent and
mirage-like, distorting the clear sky behind it. There were no lights coming
from the object.
Yankton is a small town so it was not bright and the sky was as clear as can
be. The object was at an altitude of around 200 feet travelling from south to
north and completely silent. Unless it was farther away than I thought, it
wasn't a large object. My impression was that is was probably the same size as
a private jet give or take I had never seen a mirage flying through the sky
before or seen one since so I don't have much experience judging dimensions in
such a situation. The object continued in a straight flight path moving north
till it was out of sight. The entire sighting lasted about 5 to 7 seconds. I
have also reported this on the NUFORC site. I was a senior in high school at
the time not a junior as I mistakenly stated on NUFORC. I graduated in the
spring of '88 this was in the fall of '87. Guess they've made some advances
since the Philadelphia Experiment.

Glebe, Ottawa Two Orange Cigar Shaped UFOs
Date: 2006
Time: 6:45 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Glebe, Ottawa
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Orange cigar.
Full Description of event/sighting: It happened in the Glebe in Ottawa. I went
outside on the back deck, looked up and saw 2 cigar shaped objects. One was
flying over the house the other was 20 miles away. Within seconds one slid up
beside the other. I was in shock a bit. I asked my roommate if she saw that,
she said yes and that one had gone over the house seconds before I came out. I
had the feeling inside like there was life inside the craft. It made no sound
travelled at a smooth speed. I ran to the front of the house and they were
gone.
It almost felt like they were supposed to be there, almost like I was looking
through a time warp for a second, looking at something that was there but I
wasn't supposed to see it.
Hard to explain, it was witnessed by 2 people. It made no noise like my eye
and my brain weren't working. It was like watching a bus float across the sky.
I have no doubt they are real, what ever they are.

Oskaloosa, Iowa Triangular UFO With Amber Lights
Date: March 13, 2008
Time: 9:09 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Number of witnesses: 5
Number of objects: 7+
Shape of objects: Triangle, 3/2 "V", boomerang, and cylinder.
Full Description of event/sighting: Three amber lights on very large triangle
object, silent, flying low and extremely fast, from East to West. Within
minutes, five objects with amber lights in V shaped 3/2 pattern, flying low
and very fast, East to West. Minutes later, another object w/same lights,
silent, flying low and very fast, from South/East to North/West, followed by
same, minutes later. Minutes later, seven of same, flying from East to West,
followed soon by a very large plane, leaving contrail, while flying fast and
at very low altitude from East to West. Minutes later, 5 of the same objects
flew in a single file line from North to South, before quickly splitting into
a formation of 3 turning East, 2 going South/East, before disappearing.
Minutes later, five of the objects flew South to North, later more of the
objects flew North to South. It was a very clear night with no clouds in the
sky. The "amber" lights were a rather dim, steady glow of milky orange, that
did not appear to illuminate the underside of the objects, or the space below
them. It was a very clear night, but the lights/objects almost looked as
though they were behind a mist or fog. No contrail was observed.
The objects appeared to be black, or dark grey, and almost matched the sky.
They flew extremely fast, without making any sound. The large jet was flying
lower and faster than the air traffic we usually observe at night. Each time
the objects flew over, 4 or 5 planes would appear, flying in circumference to
the objects' flight patterns. We observed the objects fly over approx. 10-20
minutes apart, for two hours. They may have continued flying over for a
longer period of time, but all of the witnesses went inside at approx.
11:30pm, because we were too cold to stay outside any longer.
Sometimes these objects appeared to be flying almost as low as the
helicopters flying over, when they are landing and taking off from the
hospital, which is less than a city block away. We have not learned of anyone
making reports to the 911 dispatch, or of other people witnessing these
events. One street light went out between the 3rd and 4th fly over. It came
on again, as usual, on the following night. These objects were flying far too
fast to see with binoculars, or capture with a camera. They seemed to
disappear when the street lights entered the line of vision.

Mount Royal, Quebec A Strange UFO Hovering Over Mount Royal
Date: March 24, 2008
Time: 11:15 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Mount Royal.
Number of witnesses: 2

Shape of objects: Round.
Full Description of event/sighting: My girlfriend and I live on the 15th floor
of an apartment building on Avenue du Parc, with windows facing North-West,
towards Mount Royal.
It was a totally clear night, not a single cloud in the sky, and we were about
to get into bed, when we noticed a strange light hovering above Mount Royal.
It looked as though it was hovering about 200m above the Belvedere, and was
mainly white light with red and blue lights rotating sporadically around.
Initially, we thought it had to be an airplane, due to the lights, but it
remained motionless in the sky for the better part of 15 minutes, so then we
thought it might be a planet or a pulsar (due to the way it was
flashing/blinking), but it seemed much too bright for either of those, it
seemed about the same intensity as lights on the transmission tower which was
in the sky next to it. Then we thought it might be a helicopter, but even
helicopters move slightly, with the wind, and the lights seemed to negate that
hypothesis.
We tried to photograph it with a digital camera, but the zoom wasn't strong
enough. We watched it for another 10 minutes until it eventually descended,
and past out of view behind the crest of the mountain.

Halifax Harbor, Nova Scotia A Large Orange UFO Floating In The Sky
Date: March 25, 2008
Time: Approx: 10:45 p.m.
March 25, 2008 around 10:45. I went out on my deck to have a smoke and saw a
large orange light float high above the Halifax harbor. It was right of
Macdonald bridge. It was not moving until it slowly moved straight up. it
stayed in the same spot for about 4 minutes until it moved toward land.
When it got closer I could see no wings and there were 5 lights that radiated
from the center of the craft. 2 in the left center, two on the right center
and one in the lower center. I have a video of it until it gets closer thought
was a plane until after I turned my camera off and notice it was not making a
sound and I saw no wings.

Long Beach California (College Pk Estates) A Strange UFO Sighting
Date: March 27, 2008
Time: 5:00 - 630 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Long Beach CA (College Pk Estates).

Shape of objects: Circular.
Full Description of event/sighting: On March 27, 2008, my two boys (11 & 6)
and I were in the backyard of our Long Beach CA home, trying to groom our dog
while watching T.V. My eldest son was the first to take notice of the object
that was above our yard. The sky had only 3 bands of clouds that looked as if
they were stretched from east to west, but most of the sky was clear blue. My
son thought it was a balloon in the sky and asked me if I thought it was the
same. I immediately noted that it probably wasn't a balloon. We watched it
through their toy binoculars at first and then, since it wasn't moving very
fast at all, I had to my son go and get mine, which are very good quality.
Once I got them and looked, I couldn't look away. It was rounded at the top,
silver and reflecting the sun as a Mylar balloon would, but this was different
because it appeared to have three round lights on it, in the center of the
disc. However, it wasn't a typical disk.
This object was rounded at the top, had the shape of an ice-cream cone and was
unlike anything I had ever seen before. There was a disc that was completely
round (I saw it from a vertical perspective - straight on) but underneath it
was a triangular tube of some sort that looked like a funnel or something of
that nature, the bottom of which was straight, not pointy and tapered down
from the disc. So, it was a silver, reflective disc with a funnel shaped
bottom, giving it the appearance of an ice-cream cone. It had three lights
that went through the middle of the disc (white, red, white) that, together,
were about a third of the size of the disc part, itself. The lights seemed to
blink several times, when the sun was not reflecting on the surface of the
disc. The cone part was hard to describe.
It was whitish on the edges but seemed to have a diamond or something in the
middle of it that was visible, then not, as if the object was spinning, but by
the time I noticed it, it was so far away that I couldn't be sure of what I
saw. The time had to be between 5:00-630pm and it's really hard to pinpoint
the time since we had been outside all day and with the time change recently
but the sun was not yet down. It was no bigger than a pencil eraser from the
view in my binoculars so I had my son go and get my camera, next. I took about
ten photos of the object and zoomed on it as close as I could and had it on
the highest setting so that I might be able to see it on the computer better.
Of course, I could only blow it up so big, but from the naked eye, it appeared
as if it was a star or planet - so bright that it sparkled like a diamond.
Our sighting lasted at least twenty to thirty minutes and eventually it got so
far away that it just disappeared from our view. The object did not get higher
in the sky, but drifted in a south-westerly direction. I will add the best
photos. You can decide if it's real or not. This is my third UFO sighting in
my lifetime. The first was when I was 7 or so, it was a black diamond that
looked like an upside down kite, with four sides that reflected the sun, so it
was another daytime sighting. The other, was a green orb that flew across the
sky back in 1995 when me and a friend were returning from Palm Springs at late
evening/nighttime. It flew over the 10 freeway as we were going west, from
left to right, quickly descending past some trees. Anyway, that's all I got,
except to mention that my youngest son, (6) said "Hey Mommy, there's two of
them!" and in looking at the photos closer. It looks as if there might have
been even more than that.

Houston, British Columbia A Circular Silver Shining UFO With Dome On Top
Date: March 31, 2008
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Houston, B.C.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Circular.
HBCC UFO Research Note: I called the witness over their sighting and the
people certainly did have a very unusual event happen in front of their eyes.
From what was described to me, I haven't a clue what this might be. I should
also add, I also witnessed a little of the high volume of air traffic in the
skies over Houston this evening.
Full Description of event/sighting: After noticing an unusual amount of jets
(12) criss-crossing the skies above Houston for approximately a one hour
period we became interested in what could possibly be cause for the commotion.
Normally we would be able to view one or at most two at this or any time
during a full day. As we were watching for the next potential passing of
aircraft, a circular craft shining silver in the sunlight shot across our
viewing space across the town of Houston and left our field of view in
approximately 3 seconds traveling south to north.
