California has had a major UFO event on January 26, 2008 with multiple
eyewitnesses to the unusual event. Some of the reports are in the following
list below.
NASA's Pilot John B. McKay - Objects That Appeared To Be UFOs Over Edwards AFB
An email from Mr. John B. McKay's daughter, who related "just" what was told
to her by her Father. No more, no less as she mentioned. I also asked Mr.
McKay's daughter about what to do about her name, should I remove it, or leave
it in the report. She told me it was fine to leave her name in this report. I
thank Sheri very much for her kindness in writing to me and for the
information she provided in her report.
John Barron McKay American Pilot Test Pilot. Born 8 December 1922. Died 15
April 1975.
Personal: Male, Married, Eight children. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA.
Liver failure stemming from X-15 crash injuries.
Astronaut Career
Astronaut Group: Man-In-Space-Soonest - 1958, Test Pilot (NASA). Deceased
Entered space service: 1960. Left space service: 1962. Number of Flights:
1.00. Total Time: 0.0083 days.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia; married with eight children. US Navy pilot in
World War II. Received a BS from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1950. He
joined NACA in 1951 as a D-558 and X-1 test pilot. Project pilot on F-100,
F-102, F-104, F-107 NACA test programs before being assigned as third NASA
X-15 pilot on October 25, 1961. Made 29 X-15 flights, reaching an altitude of
90 km and obtaining astronaut wings, before being seriously injured in the
1962 X-15 crash near Lancaster, California. Died of liver damage stemming from
his crash injuries at the age of 52.
Sheri's Email.
I just received the UFO article from my cousin.. I am writing to say that my
father, John B. McKay, who had a twenty year career as a test-pilot at Edwards
Air Force Base starting in 1951, told me that he had also seen, while flying,
objects that appeared to be UFO's. My father did not work for the military,
he worked for NASA, and has an astronaut rating for going into space in the
X-15 rocket plane. These are the details of his conversation with me, nothing
more or less to it:
What Sheri McKay was told by her Father
One night while I was home for a visit, in the early 1970's, after my father
was retired from NASA, he and I were having a conversation in the evening
hours after dinner. I don't recall how the subject came up, but he told me
that during his flying career, and on more than one occasion, he had seen
objects in the sky, while flying, that appeared to be UFO's, that some other
pilot's had also seen what appeared to be UFO's, and that they were not
allowed to talk about it. He did not go into any further detail, and I don't
remember asking any questions, but I did get the feeling that he wanted to
tell someone, and I think the fact that he was already retired, and had just
had a couple of gin martinis that evening made it easier to do so. And after
reading about the experience of Mr. Edwards, and how he was treated in such an
unkind manner by the military, I don't mind telling someone myself. As for my
personal views, I am neither for or against the idea of UFO's. But I do think
that the subject should be stripped of all sensationalism and cover-ups, and
be approached on the highest level of scientific inquiry. Sincerely, Sheri

North East Ohio In Geauga County Another Report Of A Huge Column Of Light
Date: 1959 or 1960
It was the Large cylinder of light seen in Maryland. I had an experience in
1959 or 60. I lived in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio and was on a double date
going to a rock and roll party at an amusement park called Geauga Lake Park.
This is located in North East Ohio in Geauga County. The place was packed and
they waved us by. We went to the end of the road and came back going in a
North West direction. When we reach about a quarter of a mile from the
entrance, a bright column of light appeared on the South side of the road in
an open area of scrub brush and grass.
There was a narrow creek running through the centre of the circle of light.
The diameter was about 100 to 150ft and the height about 400 to 500 ft. You
could see the clouds going by where the light shined on them. There was some
static sparks coming off the sides of the column. The night was pitch black
and there were no street lights. The edge of the light was 100 to 150ft away
from me.The two girls that were in the car went crazy with fear, thinking the
world was coming to an end. My date wouldn't let me walk over to get under the
light. After 20 or so minutes, the light just blinked off. The Cleveland
Press, (local paper) said"hundreds of people seen the Aurora Borealis last
night at Geauge Lake Park". I was there and it certainly was no Aurora
sitting a hundred feet from me. I did report this to mufon, but only 48 or 49
years late. Is this the first time any one has seen something like this? I've
been looking for more sightings as this one but no one seems to know anything

Scarborough, Ontario A Huge Oval Craft Materialized Directly Above Me
Date: 1963 or 1964
I am writing a book, which includes some of my life's experiences. One of the
experiences I had was a close encounter when I was eight or nine years old. I
have decided that I will share an excerpt from my unfinished book of this
incident, with the hope that maybe someone reading it, may come forward to
collaborate my story.
As I saluted the sky to block the sunlight while stretching my head back to
look strait up, I noticed the first bright star in the sky directly above me.
I remember thinking how lucky I was, as I took a moment to search the rest of
the sky above me for more stars, but found none. Now I am sure, I had only
taken my eyes off the star above me for only a brief moment when I scanned the
rest of the sky. Nevertheless, before I could finish assembling my thoughts
that were beginning to materialize in my mind about what wish I was going to
make, a bright object about the size of a quarter held at arms length was
there above me instead.
Before I had time to express my amazement, a huge oval object over twice the
size of a house, materialized directly above me, it was floating silently just
above the height of the TV aerials, which most of the homes had, back then. It
had gone from the size of a quarter to the size of the monster that hovered
over me now, in the blink of an eye, without making a sound.
I could not stop my legs from shaking as I stood there paralyzed with fear, I
was scared and amazed at the same time, and I could not move as I studied the
mirror like surface of the object that had stopped to look me over. It was the
first and the last time that I ever remembered experiencing, involuntary body
movement. I also remember hearing in my peripheral, the lawn mower that had
been going across the street, stop. It was then; that I realized I was not as
alone as I felt.
My eyes were glued to the object, and it felt as if time stood still. I could
see the whole neighborhood reflected off the curvature of the crafts mirrored
surface. The roof of my house was inverted in the objects reflective surface,
with the reflected TV aerial, looking like it was close to touching the real
thing. What made the whole experience even more surreal was the memory of
seeing the sun setting, and the sun setting off the westward rim of the
object; it was as if I was watching two sunsets, which is an image that has
been burned into my mind, to this day.
It was a huge egg shaped mirror. Those where my last thoughts as I watched it
slowly begin to float away from me, silently moving north up the street, while
finally gaining altitude as it flew over my school before disappearing from
sight.
As soon as I was able to move, I went running screaming my head off into my
house, freaking my mother out, she thought at the time I had hurt myself. At
first, she refused to believe the incident as I told her. We had a running
joke going on in the family back then, where she would tell my brother and me
that she was from outer space. My mother thought at first that I might have
been influenced by her stories, until she heard the incident reported on the
radio. I do not think she was ever able to bring herself to believe the
personal nature of the experience that had happened to me, as I had described
it to her back then. What adult truly listens to a kid with the same level of
belief that they would have with another adult.
Over one hundred people saw this object, including my teacher Mrs. Davis from
the school I attended, and it also made the news on the radio as well. It
happened in Scarborough, Ont., Canada, about a mile south of the CTV
Television Station. I was eight or nine at the time so this incident took
place in 1963 or 1964, I cannot remember which.

Dansville, New York Pilot Comes Out Of A Cloud To See A Huge UFO

Full Description of event/sighting: I and fellow sailplane pilots, we were
getting ready for a day of flying at the Dansvile airport, we were have just
general conversation about and with one of our instructors that myself and a
fellow pilot that we admired. The instructor was known to not to drink or
smoke, and we make a comment about this and other things that he didn't
partake in. He didn't have any religious practices and he with out any
question was one of the best that would never say anything wrong about
anybody. Just a good person.
Seeing we had him in a talking mood, as we walked across the airport, me and
my fellow pilot figure we'd ask him if he ever seen a UFO. So we asked the
biggy. "Hey (name removed), have you ever seen a UFO", his reply was just ya,
he was bout 15 feet ahead of us as we walked. We reminded him that we were
having a conversation. Jokingly, what was it.
As the story goes, he was up in a sailplane in side of a cloud (this is a no,
no per the FAA) and was getting some good altitude,15K and was starting to get
a bit cold, so he figured he would come out the sunny side to get some heat in
the cockpit. He came out of the cloud expecting to get some sun, but was now
in the shadow of a huge object. We asked him what did he do. His comment was
he went back in the cloud, hoping he wasn't seen by them. He was noted for
always carrying a camera, so we asked if he got a picture. His comment was, "I
didn't have a camera, and now you know why I always fly with one now. He
described the object of being to big to fly, and we don't have anything like
this that we could get off the ground. This was back in the 70s. (Name
removed) was a glider pilot in the 2nd World War and as for trying to keep his
health so he could keep flying until he was in his 60s, was interesting. He's
in his late 90s now, and in the Spring you'll find him at the air port still
doing the thing he loves the most. I personally think he got zapped, 95 years
old and still flying. He fly's the tow plane when it's his turn, and still
gives instructions.

Full Description of event/sighting: At 1.00am on the 2/1/2008 I was looking
out of my window, it was dark with low cloud cover when I saw a large orange
ball flying towards my house about 1000 yards away. It slowed down and went
into the clouds. As I watched another two came side by side and flew into the
same part of cloud cover. Then another two flew towards my house one behind
the other and flew into the clouds. At this point all the shore and land birds
started going mad for some reason. It all lasted for about two minutes. I just
wish I had a camera to prove it to other people .

Woodridge, Gin Gin, Western Australia 2 Bright Orange Objects

Full Description of event/sighting: 05.10 this morning I awoke to see two
bright orange, round orbs in the sky. I watched them for approx 10 mins to
observe any movement (I obviously thought at first they were stars) and I
could see they were moving up and down and side to side in very rapid manner.
I went down stairs to get a drink and when I returned to the room and looked
out of the window again they had moved closer. I now saw a very large very
white bright object and next to it was a smaller object which was orange/red
in appearance.
I became quite frightened and went downstairs to wait for the sun to start
coming up. As the sun started to rise I went back upstairs for another look
and the objects were still there but appeared to be moving away as the sun was
rising.
I had a similar experience (with my husband) back in late November 2007.
I am only submitting this sighting because it is the second one I have had
over the past five months and previous to this I have never seen anything
which could be described as a UFO. To be perfectly honest, it completely
freaked me out. I am a mature, respectable woman of 39 and I would be
interested to know if any sightings of this nature have been reported
recently.

Annandale, Virginia Three Blindingly Bright Objects
Date: January 24, 2008

Full Description of event/sighting: My Mother reported this to me and to
numerous television stations, it shook her up pretty bad. I've never heard her
this distraught over anything ever, initially I thought it was Ball Lightning
or something coming in ahead of the asteroid due on Tuesday, but now I doubt
it. She wants to know if anyone else knows about this or if anyone has an idea
about it. Here is the report verbatim as she told me:
"At 4:00am I got up to get ready for work, I put my hearing aid in and went to
put on makeup, when I came out of the bathroom I noticed a bright light coming
through the curtains on the small window. I opened the curtains and saw
something horrible. There were three blindingly bright objects, they were
brighter than anything I have ever seen, brighter than magnesium burning, they
were orangeish white in colour and were just sitting there. I initially saw
one and the other two were behind it. They lasted for 5-6 seconds before they
just disappeared, they were steady the whole time.
I couldn't tell if they were on the horizon or between the houses. They all
made clicking sounds like a light switch as they disappeared. I asked my mom
what size they were and she told me they were the size of a full moon, the
window she's talking about points west, its a fair sized yard and has a house
next to it, you can see the horizon and street from it well as I recall.
Whatever she saw has scared the living daylights out of her and she tells me
she wishes she never saw it. My mom is computer illiterate and knows nothing
of new technology. I tried to talk her into getting a camera (disposable) so
she could take pictures if they returned, but she doesn't want to spend money
on it (typical). Has anyone else seen this, she got a callback from channel 5
Weather who suggested space debris but she's still panicked. If I were there I
would believe she thinks its some sort of supernatural occurrence based on her
reaction. She's pretty old but works 3 jobs and has all her senses about her.
I don't think it was a hallucination or something with her personally, her
reaction makes me wish I had seen it.

Kokomo Indiana Truck, Cell Phone Dies - Circular Craft Witnessed
Date: January 24, 2008
Time: 7:08 p.m.
Location of Sighting: I was at Delphi Electronics in Kokomo Indiana.
Number of witnesses: 3+
Number of objects: 3-8
Shape of objects: Circular.
Full Description of event/sighting: According to the state of Indiana, I am a
licensed Detective. However, I work for a Security firm at the Delphi
Electronics Headquarters in Kokomo, Indiana as a Professional Security
Officer. It started first when I got into the officers truck to pick up
another employee who was at one of our buildings across the street. I managed
to make it over to where he was, and then as I started to drive across the
street I noticed the lights on the truck were dimming at a fairly steady pace.
I barely made it back across the street before the lights, all of the gauges
stopped working, and the brakes and power steering went out in our company
vehicle, and the vehicle completely died. The officer and I radioed to our
supervisor to let him know about the truck. I was then given another truck to
drive, and I had parked it outside one of our gates long enough to drop off a
lunch box that had been left in our now broken down truck only 10 minutes
prior. I had been in the guard shack for only probably five minutes before
walking outside to see the first orange light.
I quickly pointed to the light and motioned for her to look. Shortly after a
Delphi employee walked up behind us and also was able to see the light. After
the first light we were able to see multiple amber colored or orange colored
lights pulsating. They would come on, and then they would go off, and they
were moving in all directions. At times it almost looked like the lights were
together creating a bigger circular shape. You could also see what looked like
smaller white twinkles behind the orange or amber colored circles. I tried to
make a phone call to my parents, however my cell phone was not fully
functional due to whatever was going on. It took nearly 20 minutes for me to
get in touch with my parents, and my phone was still not working all the way.
My parents said that the family cat was acting like something was wrong, and
kept looking outside the windows all night almost in a panicking state. My dad
went outside with some binoculars and he and my mom looked into the sky to see
the same exact thing we were all seeing at Delphi. (Mind you, this is 20
minutes after the fact). I was only on the phone briefly with my parents, as
they said they quickly got off the phone with me after saying they witnessed a
multi colored circular object over their neighbors house.
In addition I can say that we had several nitrogen alarms and hallo alarms
come in within 20 -30 minutes of me seeing these objects....
UFO, I don't know, but I think something was going on. What other explanation
could there be for the cell phones not working, and for the alarms to come in,
and for the truck. In fact I was told yesterday that they took our truck to
the shop, and the people at the shop can't explain the problem with the truck.
I heard that it might not be fixable. So you do the math, was it a UFO ?

Anaheim, California Another Witness To UFO Sighting (Aircraft Chases Unknown
Objects)
Date: January 26, 2008
Time: Approx: 6:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Anaheim, near where 91 and 57 freeways cross.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Oval.
Full Description of event/sighting: I was leaving the "It's A Grind" coffee
house at Tustin and La Palma Avenues, where the 91 and 55 freeways meet, some
time after 6:00pm, Saturday, January 26th, 2008. As I was leaving the parking
lot, may car was pointing north. It was at that point that I notice two
exceedingly bright objects appear to descend from the clouds about 10 o'clock
relative to my position. As I focused my attention, I then saw what looked
like not two but three lights, all in a row like Orion's Belt, but right at
cloud base height, which was rather low because of a series of rainstorms that
have been passing through.
As I watched, I realized that two of the lights were not like anything I've
ever seen, and the light closest to me was what appeared to be an airplane
heading toward the two much larger much brighter objects. The objects were
very large and very bright in comparison, a white'ish to yellowish orange
colour, almost flame like, at first, but much brighter and steadier than that.
They were oblong shaped from my perspective. They had a definite shape, not
mere points of very bright light.
There also appeared to be some sort of aircraft circling in very tight
circles, as soon as these objects came to a stop at cloud base. Because of the
tightness of the circles, I took it to be a helicopter. This would have made
a total of four objects, the two bright steady "orbs", an airplane, and
helicopter.
All this transpired in no more than 10-15 seconds. The whole formation seemed
to then move in a direction away from my position, toward Los Angeles, and so
got lower in the sky and was obscured by palm trees and buildings near me.
Realizing that what I was seeing was not anything even close to ordinary, I
took off in my vintage Datsun 280Z sport car at a high rate of speed in that
direction and tried to get a better and longer view, if not a photo on my
laptop webcam.
By the time I got to Miller Street, heading north, I saw the two huge
orange-yellow-white lights appear to gain incredible speed, heading to the
North-northwest, abruptly disappearing in the process, about the time I
reached Miller and Orangethorpe.
I proceeded west on Orangethorpe and then watched the helicopter and airplane
break off their apparent investigation and pursuit. The plane completed one or
two circles first, before finally heading in my direction, flying directly
over me, heading south on what looked like a flight path toward John Wayne
Airport in Orange County.
Judging by the size and distance of the plane, which was a medium sized twin
turboprop engine plane, perhaps a 10-20 passenger executive model, all of this
appeared to take place over Fullerton, not far from Fullerton Airport.
Another thing that struck me as quite odd was the tightness of the circle the
airplane had made before it came in my direction and over my head. I had never
seen a plane make that tight of a circle. If I had not seen a plane pass over
me, I would have had to guess it was something else.
I live in this area, and have for many years. It is right under the
flight-path for the approach to John Wayne Airport, so very low and slow
flying aircraft of all kinds, big and small, including many helicopters are a
daily, and nightly occurrence here. I can tell you with absolute certainty,
that the two lights in question were like nothing I have ever seen in these
skys, and in a part of the sky where aircraft landing lights would never be
seen, which is why my attention was so immediately riveted to them when I saw
them.

Stony Mountain/Anzac, Alberta UFO Appeared Octagonal - With Spider Web Like
Lattice

Shape of objects: Octagonal.
Full Description of event/sighting: First, this is an account I got from my
mother, she was the one that witnessed the UFO, but she wasn't sure where
she'd report it. Last night at about 2:00 in the morning my mother noticed a
red and blue flashing light in the sky. Thinking that it was a low flying
airplane, she went back to watching TV.
Ten minutes later, she noticed that the lights were still hovering above a
nearby 'mountain' (more of a giant hill, 3-5 KM away). Curious, she got a pair
of binoculars, and went upstairs to make sure it wasn't some sort of strange
reflection.
When she focused on the object, she saw that it had an octagonal shape, and
that it wasn't an airplane at all. She described it to me as having a
spider-web like lattice, with red and blue flashing lights strung throughout.
She went between the first and second floors to get different angles of
coverage, but she was too scared to go outside, or drive nearer.
Over the next hour and a half, she watched it hover over one area, wobbling in
the air back and forth. At times, the craft would stand vertically, exposing
all the lights and the web lattice, and then it would resume it's horizontal
disc shape.
Each time it 'stood', she said it felt like she was being watched.
Unfortunately, she didn't have the presence of mind at the time to try to get
an image of it. I would have loved to have seen it myself, even if it was -40C
and two in the morning. When I went over to her place today, she was charging
up the camcorder in the hope that it'd appear again.
