Brazil releases classified UFO data
The purpose of these files is to report weekly the UFO eyewitness and
photo/video evidence that occurs on a daily basis around the world and in
space. Many people claim it is impossible for UFOs to visit Earth, I ask
you only to keep an open mind and watch the evidence we accumulate each
week. These Files make the assumption that extraterrestrial intelligent
life not only exists, but my hypothesis is that of the over one hundred
UFOs reported each week many represent factual UFO sightings. Assuming UFOs
are real, then much of what we know in science is wrong. This week's files
cover an US Air Force Academy text book on UFOs, Our DNA may have an alien
input, Mars anomalies and:
Brazilian Air Force releases UFO data
A. J. Gevaerd and Brazilian Air Force (FAB) Brigadier General Telles
Ribeiro Brazil has acknowledged Ufology as a serious activity that their
military has spent significant effort to fully understand the nature and
origin of UFOs. "We want to have all info on the subject, that is withheld
by us for some decades, fully released to public, through the UFO
community", declared Brigadier Telles Ribeiro, chief of Brazilian Air Force
Communication Center.
UFOs were seen over Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Michigan,
New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Washington. Sightings were also
reported in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Greece, Mexico, and the United
Kingdom.
Air Force Academy Textbook by Colonel Donald G. Carpenter and six others
'Environmental Space Sciences' textbook
Professor and Colonel Donald G. Carpenter was the former Commander of the
Spacetrack Radar Site at Shemya, Alaska. He was also the originator of the
Space Science Course at the USAF Academy. Colonel Carpenter was kind enough
to send me a copy of the book he edited and wrote with six other officers.
Most of the book pertains to the science of space, and the search for
Extraterrestrial Life with one chapter on UFOs.

THE UFO MYSTERY
Credible observers reporting incredible objects," said USAF General J. A.
Samford in the year 1952... and his comment is still true today. Honest and
intelligent people are still reporting strange objects that are difficult,
and sometimes impossible, to relate to known physical phenomena. Enough
attention has been brought to this serious problem that the US Government
officially took action on two separate occasions. The first time was when
it was thought that UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) might possibly be
evidence of the technological capability of a foreign, but Earth based,
power. In reaction to that possibility, the US Air Force Foreign Technology
Division located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base) was given the tough
job of determining whether or not the mysterious UFOs were a threat to the
security of the United States. Unfortunately, many people thought that the
job was to determine exactly what the UFOs were. In the years which have
followed, the Air Force has been unjustly maligned for supposedly "covering
up" the "real truth" about UFOs. In actuality, the Air Force did precisely
the job to which it was assigned. ... it determined the extent to which the
UFOs threatened national security. The extent was found to be zero!
However, the public was so unhappy with the lack of any real conclusions as
to the nature of the UFOs, that the Government took further actions to

those actions, in 1966 it contracted for an independent scientific study to
determine the real nature of UFOs. This chapter does not restrict itself to
only that study but instead covers the UFO problem from a broader view.

It is obvious that intensive scientific study is needed in this area; no
such study has yet been undertaken at the necessary levels of intensity
needed. Something that must be guarded against in any such study is the
trap of implicitly assuming that our knowledge of Physics (or any other
branch of science) is complete. An example of one such trap is selecting a
group of physical laws, which we now accept as valid, and assume that they
will never be superseded. Five such laws might be:
1. Every action must have an opposite and equal reaction.
2. Every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a
force proportional to the product of the masses and inversely as the square
of the distance.
3. Energy, mass and momentum are conserved.
4. No material body can have a speed as great as c, the speed of light in
free space.
5. The maximum energy, E, which can be obtained from a body at rest is
E=mc2, where m is the rest mass of the body.
Laws numbered 1 and 3 seem fairly safe, but let us hesitate and take
another look. Actually, law number 3 is only valid (now) from a
relativistic viewpoint; and for that matter so are laws 4 and 5. But
relativity completely revised these physical concepts after 1915, before
then Newtonian mechanics were supreme. We should also note that general
relativity has not yet been verified. Thus we have the peculiar situation
of five laws which appear to deny the possibility of intelligent alien
control of UFO's, yet three of the laws are recent in concept and may not
even be valid. Also, law number 2 has not yet been tested under conditions
of large relative speeds or accelerations. We should not deny the
possibility of alien control of UFO's on the basis of preconceived notions
not established as related or relevant to the UFO's. 33.9 CONCLUSION
From available information, the UFO phenomenon appears to have been global
in nature for almost 50,000 years. The majority of known witnesses have
been reliable people who have seen easily explained natural phenomena, and
there appears to be no overall positive correlation with population
density. The entire phenomenon could be psychological in nature but that is
quite doubtful. However, psychological factors probably do enter the data
picture as "noise.' The phenomenon could also be entirely due to known and
unknown phenomena (with some psychological "noise" added in) but that too
is questionable in view of some of the available data.
This leaves us with the unpleasant possibility of alien visitors to our
planet, or at least of alien controlled UFO's. However, the data are not
well correlated, and what questionable data there are suggest the existence
of at least three and maybe four different groups of aliens (possibly at
different states of development). This too is difficult to accept. It
implies the existence of intelligent life on a majority of the planets in
our solar system, or a surprisingly strong interest in Earth by members of
other solar systems.
A solution to the UFO problem may be obtained by the long and diligent
effort of a large group of well financed and competent scientists,
unfortunately there is no evidence suggesting that such an effort is going
to be made. However, even if such an effort were made, there is no
guarantee of success because of the isolated and sporadic nature of the
sightings. Also, there may be nothing to find, and that would mean a long
search with no profit at the end. The best thing to do is to keep an open
and skeptical mind, and not to take extreme positions on any side of the

Alien message 'may be in our DNA'
Forget waiting for ET to call -- the most likely place to find an alien
message is in our DNA, according to an expert in Australia. Professor Paul
Davies, from the Australian Center for Astrobiology at Macquarie University
in Sydney, believes a cosmic greeting card could have been left in every
human cell. The coded message would only be discovered once the human race
had the technology to read and understand it. Writing in New Scientist
magazine, Davies said the idea should be considered seriously. For more
than 40 years astronomers have been sweeping the skies with radio
telescopes hoping to catch a signal from an alien civilization.
So far the search has been in vain. But Davies believes it is wrong to
assume that extraterrestrials who may be hundreds of millions of years
ahead of us technologically will have chosen to communicate by radio.
Leaving artifacts for humans to find once they are sufficiently evolved --
like the obelisk in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey -- might be a more
attractive strategy, he said. But ensuring the survival of such an artifact
over possibly millions of years would be difficult. A better solution would
be to incorporate information into the human genome, allowing it to be
copied and maintained over immense periods of time.
One way to do this might be to deliver alien viruses which could infect
cells with message-laden DNA, said Davies. Scientists have recently
discovered large sequences of "junk" DNA that contain no genes and appears
to be very stable. "If ET has put a message into terrestrial organisms,
this is surely where to look," said Davies. A computer could be used to
find obvious attention-grabbing patterns within these stretches of DNA, he
said. If a sequence of junk units of DNA were displayed as an array of
pixels on a screen and produced a simple image "the presumption of
tampering would be inescapable".
The DNA code was easily big enough to contain a large novel. Davies added:
"Trying to second-guess alien communication strategies is fraught with
uncertainty, so we should try everything we can afford. The truth may be

Mars anomalies
Harold Carver writes, The Rover Spirit images show a hand and a Sphinx like
rock. The hand is the same size as a modern human.'
While the Sphinx is speculative, the hand looks pretty certain to me. I
took the image of the hand and asked people to identify what it was. All of
them identified it as a hand sticking up out of the ground (without any
outlines to go by).
When I explained that the image was from Mars they were all speechless. I
hope you find them interesting.

NUFORC has 2800 sighting reports
Peter Davenport writes, `We are pleased to be able to announce that we
finally have succeeded in proof-reading, and posting to our site, all of
the many reports that were submitted to NUFORC, principally as a result of
the ABC program, UFO's: Seeing is Believing, which first aired on Thursday,
February 24, 2005.' To provide some idea of the volume of work this task
entailed, whereas NUFORC typically receives, and posts, 200 to 400 reports
per month, our Center has received approximately 2,800 reports since that
broadcast.

UFO over Mexico.
Alabama pilots see UFO
MONTGOMERY - An aircrew in route from Houston to Columbia, SC on May 19,
2005 at 35,000 feet in a jet airliner at 10 PM, saw another aircraft. The
captain noticed an unknown aircraft at his 10 o'clock position high but
when he looked at his TCAS, there was no aircraft in the vicinity. The
captain says, `I then looked back at the craft noticing it was passing us
like we were sitting still while we were at Mach.78.' I also noticed it was
at least 40,000 feet higher than us.
'I pointed the target out to the first officer and she saw it as well.' It
may have been a satellite but it seemed to change directions as got
directly off our nose and then disappeared. The object seemed to have
strobes. We both know it was not a shooting star so it was either satellite
or unexplained.

MOUNT STERLING - At 11:30 PM, the witness was coming home after decorating
for the Jr/Sr Prom at his high school on April 25, 2002, as he looked up it
was about 20 feet above him. He states, `It sent two pulses of light on to
my truck a 1992 Ford Ranger 5 speed. My truck went completely dead and so
did all the radio speakers in my truck except for the nonmagnetic
(tweeters) speakers all cut off. For some reason I cracked open my door and
looked up into the sky. Once I could look up and try to see exactly what it
was, there were two more pulses of light and my truck started back up
without me starting it and the stereo cut back on and worked perfectly.
There was a little bit of a time lapse or black out between then and
getting to my house. From where the incident happened my house was only
about 300 yards down the road in the country. I then told my parents what
had happened and they just laughed and thought I was joking. That night I
literally fell asleep with my eyes open and have always had flashbacks and
chills always run down my spine when I am outside at night alone looking
into the sky.

Illinois black sphere seen
EDWARDSVILLE -- Dave Marler, State Director of Illinois/MUFON reports: At
approximately 1:20 PM, on May 19, 2005, I was lying in a lounge chair on my
patio looking when I observed what appeared to be a black sphere fly into
my view. It came out of the southwest and moved in a northeast direction.
It appeared to maintain level flight and constant speed throughout the
sighting which lasted 8-10 seconds. It appeared to be the size of a BB at
arm's length. It was first viewed at 90 degrees elevation (overhead) then
moved across the sky to the northeast to 15-20 degrees elevation before
disappearing behind a tree line. As I observed this sphere, I noticed it
was below the clouds which were at 25,000 feet altitude. There was no noise
and no vapor trail and the object was comparable in speed to that of
satellite. In addition, after the sighting, I was able to observe birds and
planes. The speed was simply too fast for a balloon.

Ohio - circular craft & small creatures filmed
WRIGHT FIELD IN DAYTON -- In 1957 my father took me to see a movie called
`Earth vs the Flying Saucers.' On the way home he was unusually quiet.
Finally he said, "They were too big." He then told me that ten years
earlier he had been stationed at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio, where he was
part of a film unit. One day an officer came and told him and another man
to grab a couple of 16 mm movie cameras and follow him. He took them to a
heavily guarded hanger. Inside was a badly damaged circular craft and about
an acre of debris placed on a canvass tarp. My father and his friend were
instructed to get footage on everything. They did so. They, then, were
taken into a refrigerated unit at the rear of the hanger, inside the unit
was what my father described as a museum case holding the bodies of two
small gray creatures, thin with large eyes but no eyelids. One showed some
severe wounds, the other had no visible injuries. They were instructed to
get footage of the creatures. When the case was opened to allow a better
shot, there was a smell similar to dead fish. When they had finished
filming the cameras were confiscated instead of being taken back to the lab
for processing. My father said he and his friend were literally sworn to
secrecy. My father only spoke of this to me that one time and I promised
never to tell anyone. Since he recently passed away, I feel I am now at
liberty to relate his story. My father was very patriotic and very
religious and not prone to making things up. Out of respect for his privacy
and mine I submit this report anonymously.

North Carolina apparitions
Alan Caviness dropped off this photo of strange phantom lights taken in a
cemetery. Like UFOs, millions of people have seen these apparitions or
ghosts. There are books filled with images of ghosts that are similar to
UFO images.
Parapsychologists know that one instant the apparition is there and the
next it has vanished. Like UFOs, the apparition is there at one moment and
often disappears in an instant. This could be explained by tremendous
speed, faster than a speeding bullet or that these objects traverse the
four-dimensional Euclidian space time concept. Einstein's four-dimensional
space/time traversed by world-lines is not complex enough to explain all
the facts. Alan Caviness photos show a piece of an unexplained world or
