North Carolina - Frequent Sightings
CHARLOTTE -- The object was observed traveling at a high rate of speed from
the southwest to the northeast above high scattered clouds on February 14,
2005, at 3:45 PM. Declination from the horizon was about 85 degrees. No
contrails or cloud disturbance was seen. The white object was crisply
defined and brightly lit against the sky. The shape was a flattened top and
bottom with sharply oval ends (cigar shape) and it traveled in a straight
path. Its size seemed rather large for a distant object in space (i.e.
satellite). Two planes were seen just prior to the sighting, which is
within the inner ring of Class B airspace of Charlotte International. This
sighting was witnessed by my sixteen year old daughter while taking photos
for a school project (film out at time of sighting). She found the
experience to be distorting and upsetting and reported the incidence to me
the next day. This report is being submitted by her father who is an
aircraft pilot. I believe the object to be a spacecraft, although its
precise shape, daytime appearance and apparent closeness are puzzling. This
report is part of our discussion and understanding of the sighting.

Ohio - UFO Filmed and Huge Light
OLMSTED FALLS -- Diane Collins reports, `I was in the house with both of my
cats about 3:45 PM, on February 23, 2005. We all heard a series of loud
crashing, banging kind of noises and my brave cats just stared at me to see
if I was going to go see. It sounded like someone was downstairs, so I
grabbed my camera and the cats followed out to the hallway. I remembered
what you said about the camera lens picking up things we don't see. I
checked it out, came back up stairs and looked out my bedroom window and
saw the now familiar rainbow lights and tried to get a few shots of that
and some very strange clouds nearby. The rainbow lights are not as bright
on film as they were in person. I also picked up a silvery disk above a
plane. There is a metal object above the plane."

Pennsylvania - Lights in a Row
HARRISBURG -- I had just come out of my aerobics class on February 15,
2005, at 8:45 PM and looked up to see a very low plane headed right for the
end store. It had three lights almost in a row but slightly diagonal from
left to right (raised higher on the right). Two of the lights were closer
together on the left and the one on the right was at the tip of the
diagonal. They were amber and white and very bright. There was no noise.
All three moved rapidly above the end store and then hovered there for a
few seconds. I was shocked when they suddenly went completely vertical.
Then, they rapidly split off in three directions and became pinpoints of
light in a matter of seconds. They just disappeared! I am an accountant and
computer tech, female, married, and I am flipped out by this. I would like
a logical explanation of what I saw.

Virginia - Round Glowing Object
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY - Several witnesses saw six UFOs at 7:45 PM, and were
able to take photos of the objects. The witness reports seeing UFOs on a
regular basis. He states, `I took these photos on February 17, 2005, but
objects were seen on February 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16, 2005. I tried
photographing them then with only a couple of good shots, but when I was
sure I had captured the images, upon reviewing them there was no glowing
objects. I don't know why. I do not think these are planes since they fly
in erratic, somewhat gyroscope type movements. These pictures are in focus
and what you see is what I saw. Look at the stars in the back ground that
are in focus as a reference.. The lights glow orange to bright red, as if
they are powering up. They go on and off in brightness like a light switch
turning out a fluorescent light. I also have a video short of six objects
with cars going by that can be used as a focal reference to me, so you can
prove I'm not just moving the camera around to make it look as if they were
moving. This was filmed with a digital Fuji fine pix 4900 4.3 megapixels
with a 2 x add on zoom lens.

Washington - Nighttime UFO sighting
Issaquah -- As I was driving northward towards Lake Sammamish on February
7, 2005, at 6 PM. I saw four crafts with red and white lights hovering over
Lake Sammamish. For a long time they did not move at all. I thought they
must be helicopters but I have never seen helicopters with lights like
that. There were about 3 red lights in a row and a white light that
flashed. I cannot account for them other than to think they were UFOs.
Argentina - Climber Videos Huge UFO
MONTE NEVADO - INEXPLICATA - The Journal of Hispanic Ufology reports that
an object of tremendous size, amber-colored and saucer-shaped was
photographed by a mountain climber. The flying saucer of prodigious size,
amber in color was photographed with a high-definition camera by a Buenos
Aires mountaineer during the ascent of Nevado de Cachi, one of the greatest
challenges for South American climbers.
The photograph, of extraordinary clarity, was taken while the sportsmen
were at Las Pailas, an inhabited location halfway up to the summit at an
elevation of 3,500 meters above sea level which contains the ruins of an
ancient ChalchaquA=AD settlement.
The protagonist of the event was Guillermo Martin, an instructor with the
Buenos Aires-based "Entrenamientos de MontaA=B1a" club. The photos were
taken in November 2004, but were made known last week. MartA=ADn had not
had enough time to examine them due to work reasons. "I didn't realize I'd

Canada -- Flashing, White and Red Lights
HAMILTON, ONTARIO -- My friend and I were outside of her house on February
12, 2005, at 6:40 PM. We just so happen to start talking about aliens and
abductions, when out of the dark winter sky we seen an unclear shaped light
that kept changing colors coming from the northwest heading towards us. At
first we thought it was a UFO, but people joke around about that all the
time. The craft was going much faster than a normal airplane. About 3 or 4
times faster. We got scared as the object in flight was moving farther
away, yet looking as if it was to land. At the west another object seemed
to follow the craft, we believe it to have been an airplane. Just a bit
after the airplane and object had disappeared, another, from the same spot
as the other appeared. It looked exactly the same as the first object; it
may just have been the same one that just turned around. In the same amount
of time as the other one took it disappeared, in the same spot. The objects
that are believed to be UFOs were just about 100 feet above the ground, or
less.
New Zealand -- Bright Orange lights
MATAURI BAY -- Lights were seen over Matauri Bay by Police from land and
marine radio from game boats in the area on February 12, 2005, at 10 PM.
Initial reports stated bright orange lights traveling fast between Matauri
Bay and Whangaroa were observed. Police said, `They can see a boat light on
the water with a flare above it. The boat light is getting brighter". Range
from observer unknown. Those in boats with visuals stated that the lights
did not perform like flares, and seemed to be inland from their vantage
point. There was a similar report almost exactly a year ago.

South Korea - UFO Photographed
DAEJON - I just wanted to take some night pictures and had a few shots that
night from my apartment. I took a picture of a night scene, and I found a
UFO on one of my pictures on February 20, 2005, at 11:30 PM. Then, I found
this picture which has a strange lightening flight thing in the dark sky.
The shutters' speed was 2 seconds.

UK/England - Sighting of Glowing Cigar
LONDON - The observer writes, `I was with my parents in the car on February
12, 2005, at 8:30 PM. I was still in my hometown of Penge in London at
around 8:30 PM, give or take a few minutes. I was in the front seat and
looked up out of the windscreen to see a hovering cigar shaped object just
above the clouds. When I looked a bit closer, it appeared to be glowing a
white light of some sort. It seemed to be just hovering as opposed to
moving but I didn't see it for very long because the clouds covered it up.
I must have seen it for about 4-7 seconds. I am a schoolboy 9 years old and
although I was not scared or shocked by the sighting, I am very interested
to find out what this could have been.

Air Force Sergeant Rick Doty Story
Rick Doty a former OSI agent was on the Art Bell Show Sunday night show for
four hours with Gregg Bishop. Doty claimed he was the Chief Counter
Intelligence officer for Kirkland Air Force Base. He explained that NSA was
concerned with Paul Benniwitz because he was intercepting classified
information with some of the radio equipment he had built. Apparently has
part of the counter-intelligence program they worked with UFO researcher
Bill Moore to disseminate false information to the UFO field. DIA had
recruited Moore as "Spy" to gather intelligence on UFO researchers. Doty
claims he was part of this program that provided disinformation to
Ufologists to protect US assets. DIA and OSI worried about KGB agents
posing as UFO researchers and making contact with US researchers to obtain
classified information.
He claimed the crash generally called Roswell was a real event and one live
Alien lived until the fall of l951. "Red Book" is real. Doty claimed the
UFO Cover-up Live program in 1988 had some real data in the program.

Peter Jennings ABC News Explores UFOs
Tom Carey Roswell Researcher writes, Regarding Peter Jennings "reporting"
on Roswell, it was indeed regrettable. When he used the word "myth" five
times in his first five sentences, it sort of let the viewer know where he
was heading [into deep doo doo]. What we have here is a man who knows
nothing about the case decreeing it to be a myth based upon no evidence at
all, while ignoring a mountain of evidence to the contrary that a UFO was
at the heart of the Roswell matter. To the ignorant, ill-informed,
agenda-driven or just plain lazy, the Mogul Balloon Hypothesis sounds
plausible, but under close scrutiny it disintegrates and evaporates like a
desert sneeze as an answer for the 1947 Roswell events.
Don Schmitt and I spent a week in Roswell-Corona with Peter Jennings's ABC
crew trying to educate them about the case, show them around and set them
up with witnesses to be interviewed for the show [e.g., pro-Roswell
astronaut Edgar Mitchell was in town at the time], but the ABC crew would
have none of it. We even had to talk them into going to the crash site to
see for themselves, so little was their interest. Their minds to us seemed
to be already made up. On the evening that Don, Stan Friedman and I spoke
to a standing room only audience at the UFO Museum about the latest
findings, the ABC crew wasn't interested and chose instead to cover a
parade featuring goofy costumes made to resemble aliens. I believe the
correct phraseology for Peter Jennings Reporting is, "The joke's on us."

UFOs: Seeing is Believing
David E. Twichell writes, `My hat is off to Peter Jennings and the ABC
Television Network for their courageous two-hour documentary on the UFO
phenomenon in prime time.
Already I can hear the voices of the dissenters: `Why didn't they cover
more of the hard evidence and less witness testimonies?' `Where was the
John Mack interview that answers the objection of `sleep paralyses' in
abduction cases?' `Why waste the valuable time with naysayers that try to
debunk the phenomenon that could be better spent explaining it?'
The readers may have their own criticisms to add to this list and their
points would be well taken. However, in all fairness, there is only so much
information, opinions and evidence that can be packed into a single
two-hour block and still leave room for the commercial space that makes the
presentation possible. (Plenty of the latter, I would say!)
The title of the show actually answers the first question. In the absence
of `a pen from the craft's dashboard', as one cynic on the show demanded,
witness testimony is the next best thing. If a handful of backwoods
bumpkins were the ones offering the testimony, the whole affair could be
easily dismissed. But, as the program illustrated in abundance, the quality
of eyewitnesses, in close encounter sightings, adds much needed credibility
where viewers with little to no knowledge of the facts are concerned. This
is the audience at which the program was aimed. Police officers, civilian
and military pilots, US Air Force MPs in charge of our nuclear missile
silos, trained observers, as well as the average, prudent, everyday
citizens like you and me. Not just a handful of them either but literally
hundreds of thousands in this country alone and, over the years, millions
worldwide. Were it not for the extreme volume of eyewitness testimonies,
there would be no phenomenon and, thus, no ABC special.
Why excerpts from the interview with our recently fallen comrade, Dr. Mack,
were not aired is a matter for debate. Perhaps it was out of respect, due
to the fact that he had just recently passed. Perhaps it was a matter of
time constraint. Perhaps the producers felt that the silly explanation of
`sleep paralysis', that couldn't possibly apply in many abduction cases,
was so obviously inappropriate that the objection to it was self-evident.
(I did, however, notice Dr. Mack's name flash by in the credits.)
The inclusion of the skeptical view is always necessary when dealing with
any controversial subject. Without it, it would not be a fair and balanced
report. Personally, I love to hear from the skeptics in a UFO documentary.
Their explanations rarely fit the evidence and many elements of the
evidence are often purposely ignored in an effort to make the square peg
fit into the round hole. Anyone with a modicum of common sense would squint
an eyebrow when listening to their ramblings. Frankly, I think their feeble
attempt to detract from the core of a given case adds credence to the
proponents of the extraterrestrial hypothesis.
I think a lot of us anticipated the ABC special with a `disclosure event'
in mind. If such is the case, we were sorely disappointed. But the
objective of the presentation was to reestablish public awareness of the
phenomenon, make known the fact that the skeptics are now in the minority
and emphasize the fact that only a personal close encounter event
constitutes undeniable confirmation for the witness. To this end, the
program hit its mark. All of this was presented on a major network, hosted
by a well-respected journalist in a prime time setting. Hopefully, this
project will open the door to future presentations of its kind.
Perhaps Jennings' closing observation was sadly prophetic; `Ultimately,
only contact will finally resolve the mystery.'
The only thing I might critique is the title of the show. A `believer' is
one who accepts the testimony of others. Once one personally has a close
encounter sighting of an unconventional flying object or endures an
abduction experience, they are no longer a believer - they are a witness.

Editor's Comments: Millions may have missed the Peter Jennings two hour
show but one segment of the ABC Nightly News carried the B-52 crews UFO
sighting at Minot Air Force Base sighting. "More than 80 million Americans
believe intelligent beings from somewhere else have come here," he said.
"Forty million believe they have seen UFOs, so this is of deep interest to
people." I want to thank ABC and Peter Jennings for carrying a news report
on the 6:30 PM, evening national news. It was a very moving report about a
B-52 crew seeing a UFO close up over Minot Air Force Base. I had a similar
sighting over England. The members of a crew of a B-52 carrying nuclear
weapons are regularly tested to insure they are of sound mental health. If
they see a UFO it is likely to be real.
I thought the first hour was great, but the down playing of Roswell and
abductions were poorly done. The only saving grace for the second hour was
Peter Davenport.
